Cup Mute!
My friends in the trumpet section of the NJOS are all using them and I liked the bright sound and the fact the tuning is very good. I would recommend it to anyone who does Big Band playing and jazz soloists as it it plays with ease but can take the power as well.

A classic cup mute sound
A super classic cup mute sound and pretty much essential for any regular player of swinging big band music. The most common cup mute in any big band playing Basie, Ellington, Herman and others of the mid-century repertoire. Vastly superior to the Denis Wick (urgh, avoid at all costs). Not as well built as some other (generally more expensive) mutes - paint is thin and cracks easily, corks can become detached and wear quite quickly. However these are minor issues in what is basically an essential part of any mute collection.

Great vintage sound
This cup mute is perfect for trumpet and cornet, fit perfectly in the bell and grants the tone that you are looking for in a cup mute. The sound is not as loud as with a metal cup mute, but is also not as harsh. The sound this mute provides is perfect for jazz and for liric solos, warm and a bit hazy.
The mute is solid and surprisingly light. The corks are well glued.

Not the best
I have some issues with the low notes. It makes them sharp (half tone up)

Good mute
Sounds good to me i really like the toen of this mute. The only downside is that the paint of this mute is not of the best quality. Overal good for the price and nice sound .
