Little gained for a lot lossed

First off, like all schilke products, this mouthpiece is excellent quality. My review comments are specifically comparing the Schilke 15B to the Schilke 15 (which I have played for 5 years now).

The sound quality from the 15B is a noticeable step down from the 15, I found the sounds a little abrasive and quiet dynamics were unpleasant. In terms of range gain, I did not find the high range more secure and I had to put in the same amount of effort. However, my top D (on Bb trumpet) was more in tune using the 15B over the 15. The 15B responds more immediately than the 15 making it a better choice for big band music than the 15 but I would not bring the 15B to a concert band or an orchestra.

Of course, your millage may vary and the best way to choose a mouthpiece is to go and try them in person to see if the concessions made by the 15B are worth the gains

sehr zentrierter Ton bei guter Spielbarkeit

Ein sehr gut zu spielendes Mundstück, welches es erlaubt, mit gutem Sound auch über einen längeren Zeitraum in der Höhe zu spielen.
Ich nutze das Mundstück sowohl im klassischen Bereich als auch für den Big Band Einstz. Das Spielgefühl ist sehr angenehm, auch Bindungen werden sehr gut unterstützt.
Im Vergleich zu meinem Yamaha 17B4 ist es in den tieferen lagen zwar etwas dünner, dafür im mittleren und höheren Bereich leichter zu spielen bei brillanterem Sound.

Je suis passé de 16C4 à 15B pour répertoire jazz (big band ...) cette embouchure est très bien, pas trop relevée. j ai testé 16b4 15b4 et d autres marques, cette 15B est top. Amélioration de l attaque, du son et plus a l aise sur la tessiture.

Top Mundstück als guter Kompromiss für hohe Lage und Sound.

Sehr gute Ansprache, vor allem geeignet für Spieler, die viel Luft wegbringen wollen. Ein sehr guter Kompromiss für entspanntes spielen in hoher Lage ohne den Sound zu verlieren. Sound vor allem für Big Band und moderne Musik Top.
