Works on my new gear, not on my old gear (YMMV)
I bought this for my son to connect an old old Yamaha home keyboard to a PC to use as a MIDI keyboard. Note-on worked, note-off didn't. Tried it from my Roland A-88 into an iMac and PC, no problems at all. Automatically set itself up, appeared in various DAWs (Logic, Sonar and Ableton Live) straight away.
No way of telling if there is a fault with the Yamaha keyboard or it's just not talking to the cable as it should. I'd imagine its the former, as MIDI spec hasn't changed since 1983, but if you're buying this to work with older home keyboards with MIDI sockets but no USB, bear in mind that it may or may not work.
I've had a bunch of these MIDI-to-USB cables off Amazon over the years and sometimes it's pot luck whether they work at all. At least this one works ok with more modern MIDI gear, not that it's much use when modern gear generally has USB.
I've kept it rather than returned it as it's a useful 'utility' thing to have in the Box Of Random Cables. Plus, I must say, it looks really good when it lights up! ;)

Class Compliant OSX and just works, and keeps working
I've been through a few models of USB - MIDI interfaces, as we use them in school classrooms, and they were either decent build quality but required drivers to work and weren't 'plug and play', or were class compliant drivers so worked when plugged in but were terrible build quality and seemed to stop working after a matter of weeks.
We've been using these Miditech cables since we came across them at a decent price point (more expensive than the very cheapest available, but still very affordable in bulk numbers) and they are by far the best quality for the price we've found.

Midi Usb Link
It works as it supposed to be working. I use it for my drumpad To drum on pc really great in Fruity loops. I did not test it with other daw systems. Only downside i have to replug the midi cable from the device first before i start working with it.

Good quality and responsive
Has worked with several keyboards, Roland HD-1 electronic drums etc. perfectly.
For some reason I can't use it to alter the presets of my MicroKorg but I'm not 100% sure it's just this cable/interface.

Tempremental
It is very easy to use but to be honest that’s as good as it gets. It works for a while until you hit a note on the keyboard and it stays on until you plug it out and that could repeat. It’s a shame that Something so simple can be so iffy.

Works perfectly
I use it on my Mac mostly for Midi Sync, and it does the job without any issues.
Build quality above average. You see the leds lighting up through the transparent usb connector.
Amazing little product.

Does what it says, great
It works great with my nord electro 2. I just installed software for specific keyboard, and now i'm using it as midi keyboard to play different sounds(drums, stings, etc). There is almost no latency (about 20 ms)
