been looking forward to this one the most from the behringer 2500 range, lots of the other modules in this range seem to have missed off crucial functions.
But this filter is supposed to have a pretty unique sound because of the very high resonance settings available, and i have to say it lived up to my hopes, it was a bit odd when first using it because of the enormous peaks you can get, takes a little time to get the hang of it, but really picks out and boosts harmonics. cant really see the "limit" setting getting much use. pinging the filter gets some really long decays with no bursting into oscillation. very pleased, look forward to playing with it this weekend, can see me wanting a couple more for a formant filter on steroids!
SInce brexit i thought ordering from europe was going to be a no go, but because this was below £135, vat was dealt with by thomann, UPS tracking was a bit worrying ,it kept saying "delayed due to brexit disruption" delivery estimate moved from friday to monday to tuesday, but turned up on the friday! so all good.

great copy, but cheaply made

positive: we A/B tested this module to a vintage Arp 2500, and the Behringer module comes really close. That is, almost the same filtering sounds can be heard if the CV inputs and resonance knob are well attenuated. I only used the very beginning of the resonance and CV input knobs.

negative: after 6 months, I have a noisy frequency knob what renders the module unusable. The potmeters are not fixed to the front panel.
I'm turning knobs on modular systems for 15 years, and this never happened to me before...
Behringer, please do something about this!

Absolutely great filter

I very much enjoy this filter and consider it a crucial part of the 2500 system. I have all the modules of the 2500 system except the 1027 and if I ever wanted to expand its voice count I would definitely add this filter along with a 1006. I enjoy this filter more then the 1006 but i've found nice sounds running this into one of the ins of the 1006 and using both filter in series.
