Incredible Tone

I just got this a day ago. It give a wide array for tones. With the cab simulation.. Waoo waoo waoo.. Totally awesome. Finally.. No need to carry any Amp. Been waiting for this.. I have 5 string Warwick Corvette. When you plug this guitar into the ampeg. It's is totally insane. Perfect combination. Depth and highs and the swipable mid. A must have. Highly recommend. Don't think twich. Get it asap.

DI with IR’s

Ampeg pedal preamp with built-in and user loadable IR ‘s. It’s sounds good but not great, the factory IR’s are dull, I think it’s because of the EQ (hi pass and low pass filters should be switched off in the software). With 3rd party IR it starts to sound better, however the BassRig still beats its. Ampeg V3 head that allegedly utilizes the same preamp circuitry sounds phenomenal, so it must be the DI/IR section that makes the difference. Build quality is excellent.

Superb amp on the floor for Iem users

Love every bit of this amp. Sounds huge outfront through my band pa and through my IEMs its literally like having an 8x10 behind me. Built to last too and easy to dial in a tone

Ich habe die SGT-DI für Live-Auftritte besorgt. Entweder, in kleineren Clubs über eine eigene Backline mit PA-Endstufe, oder bei größeren Gigs per DI direkt ins Pult.
Beides funktioniert tadellos und der Sound ist wirklich "ampegmäßig" wie ich es erhofft habe. Dank vorwiegend analogem Signalweg und einfach-belegten Potis können Anpassungen während des Soundchecks schnell und intuitiv erledigt werden.

Das große "Aber" für mich ist die Cab-Sim. Diese wird über einen kleinen Schieberegler in den Signalweg geschleift und dann ist Fingerspitzengefühl gefragt. Übe rein separates Poti wird der Eingangspegel der Sim begrenzt, da digitale Systeme, wenn sie übersteuern, ja bekanntlich nicht gutmütig reagieren. Für mich bedeutet das, dass es extrem aufwendig ist, den Eingangspegel und den IR-Pegel so aufeinander abzustimmen, dass die Zerreinheit mit und ohne IR gleich reagiert, aber die IR nicht übersteuert.

Am Ende des Tages verzichte ich ganz auf die digitale Cab-Sim und nutze die analogen Funktionen, da ich eigentlich auch ohne die Sim auskomme.
