Must be close to the lightest trumpet available today. Some physical and playing resemblances to classic Benge 3X. Responsive, flexible and easy to play. Can slur or jump across harmonics with very little effort. Excellent intonation. Can be used in all kinds of playing situations. Adams promotes this as a 'commercial' horn and works very well in that context, but also good for solo work or orchestral (Benge was principal trumpet in the Detroit and Chicago Symphony, after all). Works with many different kinds of mouthpiece and sound can be shaped by the player. However, does not sound or feel like Bach-type trumpet, if that is what you are looking for. Feedback to the player is also different and may need period of adjustment if you have not played this kind of trumpet before. Valves have long pistons and traditional caps (not recessed) and this may also feel unfamiliar at first. Valves and slides fantastically good. Very well made instrument. Lacquer finish was not quite perfect but nice colour. Comes with well designed Adams gig bag.
