Really nice and decent cable tester!
Struggling every time you make your own cables by faulting is a pain in the a**.
The cable tester is an indispensable tool for everyone who wants to build his own cables. It assures that every cable you build works fine.
I chose to trust Palmer after the nice experience I had with its PWT 08, pedalboard power supply.
I didn't regret it! It works absolutely fine! Totally recommended.!

Functional and well built but lacking features
This is a very simple well made cable tester.
It is just a continuity tester, really - it shows a light for each pin in each type of cable - but not all at the same time. For example you have to turn the (admittedly very solid high quality) knob and it will show you each pin.
What it doesn't do is latch on any warning for an intermittent fault, eg if you wiggle the cable and it stops working, it will just go back on again - this will only show you a yes-or-no is it conducting electricity. There is no measurements of resistivity or noise or anything else useful.
This is the first cable tester I have used but it doesn't really test anything, it just just what any standard multimeter would do but without the sockets.
Admittedly the sockets make the task of checking many cables at once much quicker!

Solid product
Very solid metal casing, it's quite large but can be operated in one hand. It only loses one star for the dial which is not properly alighned with the printed selections but hey, it does a great job and is easier to use & understand than some others out there. The build quality seems bombproof and I think would last for years on a touring rig.

Simple and does the job
If you're a neurotic gigging guitarist like me, you'll be familiar with the fear of dodgy leads degrading your sound. I've found this device to be very useful. It's not something that you'll be using all the time, but it's nice to check your cables now and again to put your mind at rest. It's so easy to use that the instructions aren't even necessary and it will test most types of cables. Recommended for anyone serious about maintaining high quality performance sound.

Works well
Well, this came in handy and serves the purpose quite right! One of the Inputs came off after a few usage. Unfortunately I lost it and can’t seem to find a replacement.

Simple. Does what it?s supposed to.
Not the most comprehensive one you?ll find, but it works and the price is great. It?s good to know if the cables work before routing them through trusses and up ceilings and such.

Cable tester
Very good tester with all contacts that is needed. The testcabels, red and black, worked but didn't have the best qulity but I don't need the cables. The housing is in metal, very solid and all contacts are in good quality.
