Deering Goodtime Americana

Very well made banjo, great hardware and woodwork. Super easy to play. Has really nice overtones and a bit of growl. I bought it to replace my cheap HArley Benton 5-string. When I received it the head seemed way too tight and the outside bridge legs were not making firm contact with the head. I just loosened the head tension and it resolved this problem and alsomade the tone better. All in all I am very happy with this purchase and it should serve well me for years or until I can spend over a thousand Euros for a new banjo.

Wer schon mal mit der Vorgabe in DE nach einem Banjo gesucht hat weiß warum ich beim Goodtime Americana gelandet bin.
2-Finger, 3-Finger, Overhand (Frailing, Clawhammer) - alles kein Problem. Geht locker. Scruggs bestimmt auch; Wobei hier die Schubladenfanatiker bestimmt 1000 reinrassige Gründe finden warum man das nicht machen darf da man sonst Raganröck heraufbeschwört und die Welt untergeht weil man Spaß hat.
Features nur 3 Sterne? Ich hätte halt lieber gehabt das die Tuner nach hinten raus stehen.

Muy contento con el instrumento, es de una construcción sólida, ligero y muy agradable en las manos. El espaciado de las cuerdas en el diapasón, algo más ancho de lo habitual, evita la desagradable amortiguación cuando tocas acordes. El sonido es brillante, muy claro y "chispeante", quizá no al gusto de todo el mundo, pero a mí me gusta. La terminación de la madera de arce es suave y el color marfileño realmente bonito. Estoy realmente satisfecho con este banjo. Lo recomiendo para principiantes e intermedios, si eres de los que te gustan los viejos estilos de clawhammer, frailing, etc.

I´m really happy with this instrument. Solid construction, light, and it feels really fine in your hands. Strings spacing in diapason is confortable enough not to muffle when playing chords. Brilliant sound, very clear and "sparkling", maybe not to fit every taste. The maple wood finishing is soft, and its hue is pleasant. Definitely I recommend this banjo for a beginer and intermediate player - given you like ol' style playing, like clawhammer, frailing, and so on.
