Love at first sight

Zultan's Q Series is a range of medium-weight, hand-hammered Turkish cymbals made of B20 bronze, which are striking because of their unusual appearance. The different surface treatments are not only pleasing to the eye, but also have an effect on the sound. The result is a sound that can be used in many different styles, cuts through well, and at the same time has a dark, warm sonic range. The affordable Q Series is aimed at ambitious beginners and more advanced drummers, and comprises individual hi-hats, crashes, splashes, and rides, as well as pre-configured complete sets.

Zultan 17" Q Crash cymbal

Opposites attract attention

While the completely lathed and high-gloss polished underside of the Q cymbals is similar to the popular Zultan Rock Beat series, the upper side is absolutely unique. The rim, which is covered with deep hammer indentations, is unlathed, as is the bell – this raw, earthy look creates a strong contrast to the high-gloss centre. The manual craftsmanship of Zultan's experienced Turkish cymbal smiths makes each cymbal really unique. The 17" crash has a very powerful, dynamic, full sound with a slightly dark character and medium sustain.

One letter – many uses

The Zultan Q cymbals are in the medium weight category and are ideal for genres such as Pop, Funk, and Blues thanks to their warm and balanced sound and their slightly reduced treble range. Their sound always blends homogeneously into their musical surroundings, leaving plenty of room for the other instruments. With its full-bodied, sustaining sound, the 17" crash is not only suitable for powerful accents, but also for crashing right through every quarter note in a high-intensity section – without ruining everyone's hearing. Thanks to its size and the bell's distinctive sound, it can even be used as a light ride cymbal when played with thinner drumsticks.

About Zultan

To provide traditional craftsmanship at a fair price has been the guiding principle of Zultan ever since it was founded in 2000. The firm's practice of selling directly to the end customer makes it possible to offer very customer-friendly prices. Nevertheless, the production process for Zultan’s trademark cymbals, which are made mainly in Turkey, is of the highest quality, a fact which has ensured they have also been a fixture in the Thomann range since 2011. The nearly 250 Zultan products cover several cymbal series, catering for all sectors of the music market. Zultan also offers accessories such as bags and drumsticks. Thanks to the use of high-quality materials and manufacturing expertise, Zultan really does offer uncompromising quality at a reasonable price.

The Q Series does it all

The Zultan 17" Q Crash is an excellent choice wherever a punchy but not-too-bright crash sound is desired, be it a Blues session, Funk gig, or Pop concert. Whether it's played loud or soft, it consistently produces a pleasant, approachable sound that stays controlled, without ever being too prominent. Another possible use is in the mixed genres of acoustic and electronic music that are so popular these days, in which darker-sounding cymbals are preferred, as their profile suits the overall atmosphere better. Last but not least, all Q cymbals will also do an excellent job in the studio, as their sonic properties make them extremely microphone-friendly.

Great crash
Anonymous 24.03.2016
Bought this crash after having previously bought one of Zultan's aja series china's, admittedly not expecting wonders from the price but i was blown away by the sound and build of the china, after intending to buy a similar crash from the byzance range from Meinl i decided to give this crash a chance instead and again blown away by the sound, had my first tracking session with it yesterday and it sounds fantastic fits right in with the rest of my set up (predominantly Sabian AAX) with just the right amount of grit wanted from a dark crash!

Dont let the price tag fool you!

Zultan Q 17"

This cymbal is beautiful, it was my first Zultan, wasn't sure about the quality but the sound in the samples was ok so it convinced me and i am convinced.
I'ts a dark crash, great quality for a 120¤ crash, if you are on a budget definetly buy zultan.
Of course it's not compared to a 250, 350¤ crash of the other top brands but it fits my purpose. Love how it looks and how it sounds, i will buy more zultan for sure.

Can't recommend Zultan enough

Great sounding cymbal. It produces a real dark sound and it's actually rather psychedelic.
Zultan give other higher priced cymbals a run for their money as the quality is simply top-notch.
