Mein neues Standard-Set...

Nach über 25 Jahren Erfahrung mit diversen Drumsets (Einsteiger- bis High-End-Klasse) im Live- und Studio-Kontext habe ich 3 Bedürfnisse: Gute Portabilität, einen flexiblen Klang und einen geschmackvollen aber nicht zu aufdringlichen Look. Und ich finde, dieses Set erfüllt alle diese Dinge. Habe mir im Endeffekt sogar zwei dieser Sets gekauft - eines zum Üben zuhause (in "natural wood") und eines für unterwegs (in "raven black"). Bin nach mehreren Fellkombinationen und Aufnahmen sehr zufrieden mit dem Set. Sowohl ein- als auch doppellagige Felle klingen prima und sogar die Werksfelle haben eine Weile einen brauchbaren Klang.

Meine Pros:
- Die 13er Snaredrum, die auch in mittleren und eher tiefen Stimmungen einen ausgewogenen Klang hat
- Das Set nimmt vergleichsweise wenig Platz ein
- Die Yamaha-Hardware ist zuverlässig (Bassdrum-Füße, die Spannböckchen & die Tomfüße)
- Die wenigen Stimmschrauben pro Trommel sind für mich ein Pro, da Fellwechsel und das Stimmen wirklich schnell gehen
- Das Snom ist eine interessante Soundvariante

Meine Contras (die wenig ins Gewicht fallen):
- Die Bassdrum kommt mir weniger stimmvariabel vor als etwa die Snare oder das tiefe Tom (aber für die Kesselgröße ists wirklich in Ordnung)
- Das Snom so zu stimmen, dass Tom und Snare gleichgut klingen, ist eine Herausforderung
- Die Innenseiten der Bassdrum-Hoops sind nicht lackiert
- Die Snare-Abhebungen sind eher zweckdienlich

Ich nutze das Set in Kombination mit dem Yamaha EAD 10 und damit lassen sich die kleinen Schwächen im Bereich Bassdrum-Sound prima ausbügeln.

Ich wollte in kleines Set für Kneipengigs kaufen und war eigentlich auf ein Bop-Set mit 18" Bassdrum aus. Dann wurde mir dies empfohlen. Ich war sehr skeptisch, habe viele Youtube Videos geschaut, allerdings weiss man da nie, ob das Drumset gut klingt, oder ob es die Aufnahmetechnik ist. Da ich das Set irgendwie cool fand, habe ich es dann doch bestellt. Im Keller aufgebaut und angetestet und es hat mir erstmal gar nicht gefallen. Zuviele Obertöne, zu laute Snare im Verhältnis zu dem Bassfell. Kann natürlich daran liegen, dass ich nicht so gut stimmen kann. Wollte es dann schon zurückschicken und hatte Retorenschein angefordert. Habe dann aber andere Felle aufgezogen. Ein Evans EMAD2 für die Bass drum, Ein Reso-BassFell von Evans mit Loch, Remo Pinstripe-Felle für die Toms, ein Evans 13" Genera Dry Coated für die Snare. War nochmal 'ne Investitionen. Aber ich finde einfach, das Set sieht toll aus und das Transportargument ist sehr bestechend, daher wollte ich ihm noch eine Chance geben. Mit den neuen Fellen dann noch eine weile dran rumgestimmt, der Sound war dann schon in meinem Keller deutlich besser, die "Snom" habe ich allerdings erstmal ignoriert und nur auf ordentlichen Standtom-Sound gestimmt. Habe das Set dann mit in den Probraum genommen und war begeistert. Die Bassdrum hat eine tollen, druckvollen Punch, harmoniert super mit der Bassgittarre (wir machen so PopRock), Snare und Toms klingen klasse. Der Sound ist irgendwie modern, klingt nicht wie das Schlagzeug von Jon Bonham, sondern mehr wie neueren funkigen Sachen oder Pop-Rock, der Name "Hip Shell" passt also! Nach meiner anfängliche Skepsis bin ich jetzt sehr angetan und behalte das Set! Zwei Punkte Abzug bei den Festures, weil ich die Felle nicht gut fand, und die Snom mir ein Rätsel ist, da könnte Yamaha mal ein paar Tipps geben bei Youtube, wie man die stimmt ;-)

TAnto suono in pochissimo spazio

Ho comprato questa batteria per avere la qualità yamaha ma su un'impronta a terra ( ingombro ) molto limitato , avendo una sala prove 2x2 mt e devo dire che sono estremamente soddisfatto . Sia del suono ( specie quello della cassa , sebbene cosi corta ) che del tom e del timpano ( che richiede pero' un po' di tempo per capire come accordarlo per farlo suonare bene come timpano e come rullante ) . le meccaniche sono ottime da standard yamaha . l'unica cosa che non mi convince e' il rullante con poca personalità , che pero' ho sostituito con il fratello maggiore da 14"
Nel complesso sono molto soddisfatto.
