Good choice
SW., 30.09.2012
This rating can, of course, only reflect one's own taste. On the violin made in Germany around 1930, Evah strings were rebuilt (due to very good experiences on a different violin). The instrument and the strings did not fit perfectly. The sound seemed a bit too hard overall. Therefore the Warchal strings were chosen. Despite a low tension (pleasant playing feeling) there is no loss of brilliance and enforcement power. In large and high rooms these strings on this violin never sound shrill, but nevertheless special. So,
as requested. A wonderful sound. Just trust the manufacturer. It will surely try the one or the other over time. These strings are definitely far ahead. Since they are on the violin for a relatively short time, there is not much to say about the quality of the material. At first glance they look very noble. We will see ... and hear ...

Super sound with small smears
20.09.2016
The strings have developed on my Bohemian violin (about 1930) over time a super sound, which with personally really well pleases and generally surely with Obligato can keep up.
The only problem: the wrapping of the D-string (according to the manufacturer from Hydronalium) has probably suffered from sweat after 3 months of instinctive play - I have never had such problems, so it seems to me particularly striking. The result: two different materials appear to be spiral-shaped on the outside, one of which has become flatter, so that the string feels slightly corrugated when changing the position. With the A-string from the same material is not the case strangely.
