Impressive

One of the nicest natural sounding drive pedals I've tried. Very open amp like tones. I've owned a few of the popular Dumble-esq pedals. Always felt I needed just a tad more gain to hand and this unit delivers that with all the smoothness and dynamics associated with that tonality. Not quite as touch responsive as say the Dumkudo or Zen - but still in the zone. Upper Mid range is less pronounced whiich I like. With the voicings switch this pedal covers a lot of ground. If your looking for smooth and natural put it on the list.

Hammer transparent overdrive
17.07.2016
The Euphoria is the antithesis to an Overdrive a lá Tube Screamer. Here, there is no central coloring, but a very transparent oversteering.

The degree of distortion can be very finely measured thanks to long control paths. From the Fast-Clean (Gain all down) over juicy (10-up to approx. 5-nach) to fuzzigem singing (from 10 after) a very wide range of sounds is covered. It can be operated according to manufacturers for more headroom also with up to 18v. I did not hear any difference with me, but some of them swear on the net ...

The workmanship is boutiquegerecht high quality.

The service is not as simple as you might expect. This is because the Tone and Bass controls are not neutral in the 12 o'clock position. The Tone slider to Quarter-Before is enough for me.

To the bass control you have to know that the bass pre-gain is switched. If it is turned up, you quickly get a fuzz-like effect. This is not my thing. I think it's neutral when you turn the bass knob all the way. So I'll do it always. In this position - but surprising for me - no bass is lost.

The voicing switch is not quite self-explanatory. With little gain, no difference can be heard in the different positions. Only when more gain is heard, "Open" is the least compressed and most level, "crunch" has the most compressed and least level. "Smooth" is supposed to imitate the sound of Dumble-Amps, with compression only when hard hit.

From the voicing circuit, I am frankly disappointed. I thought you get three usable overdrive sounds by toggle switch. This would probably only be the case, if one had then added mid-coloring. The effect of the "Transparent Overdrive" remains true.

I use only the "Open" position. And it has it in itself: an insane sensitive controllable sound. Glassy heights, pearly, wonderfully controllable with the guitar potentiometer. I find the sound striking. The fuzzy sounds in higher gain settings are nice, but I do not use them. Even in higher geine settings rushes the pedal as I find very little.

Actually, I bought the Euphoria to replace a (Tube Screamer related) Ibanez Metal Charger. This did not work, because I noticed that I do not always want to do without a mid-color. Now the Metalcharger is my low gain pedal, the Euphoria the down-loaded midgain pedal. And after that, a modified DS-1 performs its service for distortive lead sounds.

Conclusion: a hammer pedal. Not as versatile as it seems at first sight. But in the Openstellung an absolute "open".
