I play in a country band and in an acoustic project, so I often use brooms, floppy sticks and rods. So far, I had little experience with plastic broom, but now I've got some (Flixx FFS Rods + Father Whip Stick Rods.
The Whip Stick Rods are very good in the hand. I play with it both on my Pearl-Drumset as well as on my Schlagwerk booster set.
The adjusting ring allows good variations. Soft, broom-like stops are just as possible as hard and loud stops. So far I can not complain about the processing. The plastic bristles create a clear, well-defined tone on cymbals. About the durability, I can unfortunately not give a verdict, since I use the Stick Rods only about 3 weeks.
