Tiny, powerful – and ready for the stage

The Valeton GP-5 is an ultra-compact multi-effects processor that fits remarkable digital power into a device just 9cm long. Despite its miniscule dimensions, its capabilities go far beyond those of a simple effects unit by combining modern HD modelling technology with an IR loader, NAM (Neural Amp Modeller) compatibility, and Bluetooth functionality. Designed for modern guitarists who need a space-saving, versatile, and easily programmable tool for home, rehearsal, or on-stage use, the modeller delivers impressive flexibility, allowing up to nine effects to run simultaneously while offering more than 100 built-in effects and 100 memory slots. A bright colour display ensures clear visibility even under live conditions, making the GP-5 a true pocket-sized powerhouse.

Sound design in the smallest of spaces

Though compact in size, the Valeton GP-5 is loaded with features rarely found in this price range, providing intuitive operation thanks to its large, customizable footswitch and high-resolution colour display that makes navigating presets and parameters effortless. Up to nine effects can be run at once – including amp modelling, overdrive, modulation, delay, reverb and more – with flexible internal signal routing that lets users arrange the order of effects to their liking. Alongside 50 factory presets, the unit provides 50 user memory slots, and with SnapTone technology, it even supports NAM files for highly realistic amp simulations. Connectivity is equally versatile, with USB-C and Bluetooth enabling smooth software integration, easy control, and convenient IR imports, all squeezed into this tiny yet powerful unit.

Valeton GP-5 multi-effects pedal for electric guitar,

For compact setups with high standards

The Valeton GP-5 is designed for players seeking maximum functionality in a minimum of space, with a compact format that slips into any gig bag and fits onto even the most crowded pedalboard. This makes the unit perfect for frequent travel, streamlined setups, or as a reliable backup system for rehearsals and sessions. Clear operation, Bluetooth connectivity, and app-based editing provide advanced users with rapid access to functions, although musicians planning to use the GP-5 as a complete studio or stage solution should note the absence of features such as MIDI and XLR outputs. What the unit offers instead is a clever design concept combined with a surprisingly refined and mature sound.

Valeton GP-5, detail

From the living room to the live session

The Valeton GP-5 adapts effectively to a wide range of musical contexts, functioning as a versatile mini all-rounder for practice in a living room, travel use in a hotel room, or as a convenient backup solution in a gig bag. A simple setup of headphones, smartphone, and Bluetooth connection allows immediate use without additional hardware, while the unit also integrates seamlessly on a pedalboard, serving either as an amp and cabinet simulator at the end of the signal chain or as a compact effects block in an amp's FX loop. Additional flexibility comes from NAM model loading and custom IR integration, providing powerful options for recording environments and creative sound design – and when paired with a small FRFR monitor, the GP-5 transforms into a compact live solution for rehearsals, sessions, or stage performances.

About Valeton

Valeton is a Chinese company that, while still relatively new, has been developing products for other brands for a number of years and thus already possesses a significant wealth of experience. The company mainly specialises in the creation of a wide variety of guitar and bass effects and consistently takes its own distinctive and innovative approach. The main focus is to make equipment that combines high quality and affordability by using efficient production methods, and Valeton’s product range has recently been expanded to include small and practical devices such as headphones and desktop amplifiers, which are designed to help musicians in their day-to-day activities.

NAM & SnapTone

Integration of SnapTone technology and support for NAM (Neural Amp Modeller) files brings profiling capabilities to the Valeton GP-5, a feature previously reserved for far more expensive devices. NAM-based amp profiles can be loaded via the device's software suite, accurately reproducing the dynamic behaviour of real amplifiers, allowing favourite community sounds or custom models to be used in pocket-sized form. SnapTone ensures seamless import and optimises performance within the GP-5 platform, making the unit particularly appealing for home recorders, modelling enthusiasts, or live musicians seeking complete social freedom, while the intuitive Valeton Suite app adds a practical, user-friendly touch.

2025's best guitar product.
HomelessJazz 05.08.2025
This is the MVP of this year but no one seems aware of the potential of it yet.
Listen, either you don't have the budget for bigger units or you like cheap and good stuff. For both, you're in the correct spot.
Are you aware of this thing can play NAM profiles for 80 euros?
Do you know what it means?
It means you're not only getting a bluetooth pedal with amp models, you're buying the freakin player. The world is yours now, go crazy, go find every expensive unit's neural model and play it for free.
Get a 30€ wireless midi footswitch, the chococolate one and you have a 5 switch unit and the best part is, this pedal can be powered by the footswitch and if you throw a small powerbank to the chocolate footswitch, it can also power the valeton as well and voila...You have a wireless/powerless setup. Go further and buy the harley benton wireless guitar jack and a small expression pedal and for 200€ you have an endless options / wireless / power cord free / versatile as f. setup.
tonex my.....ss.

Bring meaning to your life
Bartleby The Scrivener 31.08.2025
OK, I hadn't paid much attention to this pedal because I'm a dinosaur who doesn't know what neural modelling or IR loading is. Then I saw the Glenn Fricker review and was impressed. So I scrounged together not so many dollars and bought it.

OMG girlfriend! Straight out of the box using only the Valeton app and the pre-loaded patches, and I have a complete guitar rig of amps, cabs and pedals. In fact many guitar rigs, I would even say I have a plethora of guitar rigs, if I knew what a plethora was.

If there is a problem with the GP5 it lies in the extremely small form factor. I've got to invest another fistful of dollars for a midi controller to expand the functionality of the unit. I think I want a FRFR amp to maximise the sonic properties of the pedal. Well, I've never had a problem spending money on guitars and accessories in the past so I'm certain I'll overcome those two slight issues.

My conclusion: if you haven't already bought this pedal your life is worthless. Your children will not respect you; your wife will have an affair; and your cat will defecate on your favourite shirt. Your community will shun you and no house of worship will offer you shelter. You must rehabilitate yourself before it is too late for your own sake, I'm begging you.

Honey, I shrunk my rig!
Too much G.A.S. 28.08.2025
The GP-5 is quite incredible. To think that say 10 years ago you'd have to pay $4000 for amp modeler and now less than a $100? We are truly living in a golden time for guitarists. The GP-5 factory settings are not great and almost seem to have been set up by a work experience kid? The volumes etc are all over the place? But if you spend the time to create your own tones it is superb. If you were really organized, you could play a gig with this pedal replacing most of your board and amp. Also perfect for the home recordist. Apart from the fact it has practise drum loops and a very good tuner you'd be crazy not to buy one just because!
