Definitely worth more
Rosco Miller 27.08.2022
I was looking for a new condenser-style microphone for indoor interviews and I came across the SC140 and thought why not I had seen some reviews on it and it was cheap but don't let the price fool you, this mic gives more bang for the buck, I have used other mics that cost significantly more and this little guy blows them out the water when it comes to sound quality I would definitely suggest picking one up or even the double pack as I am definitely going to pick up another one.

T-Bone SCT 140

A great design, inspired from an old classic, a recipe for good sound, all in a very affordable package. Thanks Thomann for making quality recording affordable! I use this on acoustic guitar-nylon and steel strings, bass, vocals, jazz snare drum, all kinds of percussion, violin, and its detail and quality never ceases to amaze me. Good options with the switches, a PAD and a HP filter for removing rumble. I don't like the elastic suspension, I prefer a normal mic holder nut. I am using it live in small gigs to amplify acoustic guitars and percussion, even vocals and I received compliments for the sound.

Nice microphone for instruments.
BerkayP 09.11.2021
I've been using it for months and it's a very quiet microphone. The microphone equivalent is very flat and balanced. This is one of the best choices for instruments for its price. I would definitely recommend.

T
Worth so much more, diverse applications
TDawg93 27.03.2025
I absolutely love this mic. It’s so diverse and sounds like it costs so much more than it does!

The most obvious applications are Overheads/cymbals and Acoustic Guitars. For acoustics, aimed at the neck join and placed 1-2ft back, sounds great. Overheads, lots of good spots, just try them out.

This mic also sounds great on string instruments as it captures the top end in a ‘sweet’ and not ‘sharp’ way. Like with acoustics, give it a bit of distance and you’ll get a well rounded sound.

But also this works really well for vocals - again, capturing the top end really nicely so you’re not having to do stupid amounts of work to get it sounding nice like with other cheap mics.

Also great that it comes with a little hard case and a cradle for stable operation.

Worth it!

Best secret weapon

I love this mic. Use it for drum recording, it has transparent sound. Unfortuntaly there's a HF peak somewhere around 9 kHz, I have to use a deesser to get ride of this peak, but besides that it has a clean, transparent, fat sound.
