Good features, rather specialised effect
Rob_Shorty 02.01.2018
Not tried this live yet, only in practice, but standard TC Helicon metal construction, adaptive tone, reverb to normal high standard. No power supply included but works on a standard regulated commercial power supply for me. No manual included but available online. Provides phantom power to mic even when using batteries - I run a condenser headset mic from it through standard interface.
For me the Critical Mass effect is only suited to certain types of singing. For normal singer/songwriter performance the effect seems to overwhelm the soloist. I can get really nice ethereal sounds though using smooth humming with no consonants with lots of effect and reverb, rather specialised. Clicky consonants are echoed very rapidly. For me th main effect is not for normal use although the adaptive tone and reverb along with phantom power are suited to all types of singing.

Enhanced Densities of Sound
stuntpossum 07.02.2022
I play bass and do backing vocals in a classic rock band and wanted something different than just reverb that would compliment the main female vocalist and the guitarist who also sings backing and uses a early tc helicon vocal pedal. I was immediately impressed with the added harmonies that gave me and the band so much more shine sparkle and even choir like vocals 🙏🤘🌈❤️

Interesting and Fun pedal
gstjepan 20.06.2019
I use this pedal for my home recording. I really needed reverb for my vocals, but I decided to get something to play with as well.

It's a very cool little pedal that allows you to enrich your vocals. It definitely helps to watch online video on how to use it to learn all the tricks.

I found that when used sensibly (small amounts of effects) it can enrich your voice which is handy if you're singing alone.

I would recommend this for someone who will take the time to explore the possibilities and potential this pedal can offer. If you're looking for simple doubling effect then there is another pedal for that.

Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase, I'm already having loads of fun exploring different ways to utilise it in my songs.

Disappointment
Georgios S. 23.05.2017
The good things about the pedal is the preamp and the reverb plus the tone button which works OK, giving a nice color to the voice with compression e.t.c. It's good quality and very sturdy. The melodic and the gang voicings have no differences. The voicings are so distant that sound like having tons of reverb, even when the reverb is off! You can not use it in a live situation. I have tried it out at three gigs with different settings and decided to return it.
