Snareweight M1 magn. Overtone Damper

I love this little gadget.
No more big rings and sticky materials.
This, for me (it's always subjective), works better than other solutions for the purpose. The only one that really seventified my snare drums, drastically, but at the same time elegantly, both aesthetically and soundwise. It's beautiful and well finished and easily permutable between drums (it just clips on the rim - use the instructions! - it's very easy but the little leather peg must be pulled).
May seem a bit expensive for what it seems to be before trying it, but, for me..., best money I ever spent on this type of small accessories. I just hope that it lasts - I want to believe so - it seems well engineered. Only time will tell about that. But I'm very happy so far.

I bought this for use as a slight dampener on my 14''x12'' floor tom, as I was tired of moongels getting nasty and/or disappearing when being put into/pulled out of cases for gigs. I experimented with a small piece of foam inside the drum, resting on the resonant head, for a while but I did not like the sound too much. The Snareweight is the perfectfit for me, as it fits snugly on the triple-flanged hoop and its position on the hoop can be regulated to vary the level of dampening (I personally don't press it down too far, for a small amount of dampening). Since I use black drums with black-coloured drumheads, the black Snareweight looks very sleek as well!
