perfect for me

Bought this because I needed more rack unit space but not a physically bigger unit. My other rack is 4 U but full size and its a bit awkward to access the ports and sockets on some of my rack units when installed. ie if they are that only 4- 5 inches deep. With this rack there is plenty room for my deepest unit and nothing too ackward to reach for plugging/unplugging cables should I decide to reconfigure. The finish is a pleasing dark colour in appearance and the handles are strong with some flex without being over engineered. Unit commes supplied with fixing screws for 6 1 U units - rail is fixed locations not sliding as I expected - front and rear , I must have looked at a different model when I checking out the competition. This one is a bit pricey as the full depth unit is same or cheaper! That doesn't make sense. The decision to go for this model was based on the shape of the surface for ease of stacking or laying stuff on top of. Other makers have weird X shaped shapes that wouldn't work for me placing my recording deck directly on top of the rack case.. Very Happy with it.

I use this for my Kemper and various things that come with that an it works great. The shallow depth means it can sit on top of a cab nicely too for live use.
Might not be flight ready but you can certainly put this in the back of the car or van and not have to worry, has that solid SKB build you know you can rely on!
