I wasn't sure about getting this at first given the price. Now that I have it, it is totally worth it. The base is very solid and has a shockproof rubber area that sometimes larger bases don't have. It is also very modular with the base that can be separated from the longer pole section and the mic adapter. All are 3/8 inch threaded so the mic can affixed to base if a lower profile is needed for example. This can provide a very low profile and tiny mic mounting solution with something like a Schoeps CMC 1L. It takes up very little room on my desk and looks great.
