Professional pedalboards

The company RockBoard specialises in pedalboards, including accessories, and has been offering a wide range of professional-quality products in this field for many years. RockBoard's portfolio includes pedalboards in various sizes and price ranges, ensuring the right product for every guitarist and bassist. The TRES 3.0 is a medium-sized board designed to accommodate effects pedals over two rows. Despite its compact size, the TRES 3.0 (available here as a bundle with a matching gig bag) boasts all the features and expansion options of its larger counterparts, including the same highly robust construction. The key attributes of the RockBoard TRES 3.0 at a glance: Compact, lightweight, solid, portable, and highly flexible.

A proper home for those pedals

Measuring 432 x 234mm (L x D), the RockBoard TRES 3.0 provides space for five to ten effects pedals, which can be arranged across two rows. All pedals are easily accessed and operated by foot courtesy of the 10° angled board surface. Produced from cold-rolled aluminium sheet, the board's robust yet lightweight (approximately 1kg) construction can more than endure the rigours of life on tour. The black powder coating not only looks cool but is also resistant to external influences. A unique feature of the RockBoard pedalboard is the slot system, which allows pedals to be mounted with a single click. The RockBoard TRES 3.0 also features suitable slots or ports for connecting other accessories, such as power supplies and LED lights, and comes in a robust gig bag with sufficient quantities of self-adhesive hook and loop tape.

Creating space and order

As a player's pedal collection increases, so does the tangled weave of power and patch cables, where achieving a neat and space-saving pedal setup seems nigh on impossible. This is where the pedalboard comes in - bringing order to the user's effects pedal arrangement. The necessary power supply can be mounted underneath the board, with "underground" cable routing. The pedals themselves can be securely fastened in parallel using hook and loop tape or the click system. RockBoard's ultra-flat and flexible patch cables will also prove helpful here. The TRES 3.0 is ideal for guitarists and bassists who prefer a smaller number of pedals, but also serves perfectly as a "second board", providing essential effects at home or for recording sessions.

About RockBoard

RockBoard is a brand belonging to Warwick Music Distribution GmbH, which is based in Markneukirchen in Germany's Vogtland region. RockBoard's range focuses on pedalboards, which are available in numerous different designs to suit any application and budget, and are complemented by an extensive range of pedalboard accessories, from slick patchbays for expanding the boards and high-quality patch cables for loss-free connection through to high-performance power adapters and the "QuickMount system" for rapid effect changes. In short, RockBoard offers virtually everything that players need to easily set up their own individual pedalboard.

Matching accessories

RockBoard not only offers a wide range of pedalboards but also practical accessories and expansion options, including the simple yet ingenious slot system, which allows pedals from renowned manufacturers such as MXR or BOSS to be "clicked" into the corresponding slot on the pedalboard. RockBoard also provides a power supply solution in the form of its proprietary Universal Power Supplies (UPS), which fit into the corresponding slots on the board or can be discreetly attached to the underside. For dark stages, RockBoard offers LED lights which simply screw into the port on the side of the board and are powered via the UPS. Additional accessories include pedal risers and step-ups for elevating one or more pedals, not to mention custom-fit cases and bags for RockBoard's pedalboard range.

Boutique worries

Hi Guys,
The board itself and all the various components are good quality, my only worry is that the velcro (as is stated) can damage labels or other non-metal attachment's underneath the pedal's which can be costly items and keeping them mint is the reason I chose to encase them in this package. I have overcome the problem (kind-of) by putting paper over the labels to stop them sticking and damaging the pedal, not ideal but hey, thats my input, many thanks.

Good board

You get what you see when you order this product. The gig is sort of flimsy, but that's what you get for a lightweight that is easy to carry around.

This bag might not be ideal for pedals that are tall (height). I put my Ampero II Stomp on the top left corner of the Rockboard. When it goes in the gig bag, I can actually click the pedal buttons from outside the bag. It's not harmful to the equipment but I have to be really careful not to keep anything on the bag because the weight will be taken directly by the pedals under it, if they're tall. This is not going to be an issue for everyone, but it's something to consider.

Good size, works fine, nothing to complain about

The board is just the right size for a medium pedal board setup. The construction is solid, the size and shape/angle are exactly as you'd expect, you can fit a decent power supply underneath, and tidy cable routing is easy due to the slots.

The only thing I did was to substitute the included velcro tape with 3M Dual Lock (also sold branded as "Rockboard Pedalboard Tape" here) as I always do. No complaints with the velcro - I just always like Dual Lock more because it feels tidier and safer.

Like other reviewers have said, the carry bag is evidently the thing that'll fail first, while the board will keep on going and going, but that's probably obvious even without mentioning. If you need a bombproof solution, there's a version with a hard case available for a bit more money - I rarely carry the board around so the bag is perfect.

A good product for the money with hand soft carry case.

I needed something very portable and light, and it ticks that box. I'm glad I didn't for anything smaller though, as I would have struggled to fit a good PSU underneath on anything smaller than this!

Pros: good price, easy to use, portable, well built

Cons: none, unless you need more space, either for pedals or to fit things like power supplies underneath

Summary: good product, good value with a useful soft case. If you need a bigger board or a hard case, these are available within this range.
