Great little guitar - especially for the price
Axel S. 02.07.2018
I wanted a nice little "banger" guitar to keep around the house, not having to worry about kids and guests and knocks. Also, I like small bodied guitars. Being a lefty, there's not too many cheap options on the market, and Recording King offers exactly ONE left handed model - the one I bought.

Overall I am very much impressed. The overall quality is very decent, especially regarding set-up and playability. Right out of the box, this instrument plays very well, with comfortable low action. Unlike other cheaper instruments I have played, they don't seem to go for "safety" regarding string height, you can actually play this one as-is without a need for set up.

Sounds nice and bright, great for fingerpicking and strumming, just a cool "accompanying" guitar. I play a lot of acoustic blues, so this fits the bill perfectly. Plus it's small, portable, and cheap where can you go wrong?

If you want to nitpick: The frets aren't polished all that nicely, there are a few glue spots near some frets from installing them most likely, the finish has a couple of spots, as does the binding.

But for the price? Great guitar! A keeper!

Great value with stacks of mojo.
Pete Lawson 10.04.2018
This guitar doesn't sound as good as my Martins, nor is it any good for gigging; that's what my Taylor 415 is for.
All of that said, I love this inexpensive little guitar. I think it looks GREAT and plays brilliantly, I just changed the factory fitted strings (which were naff) and it sings. It's perfect to have propped up around the home and to be honest, I've not played anything else since I got it. I don't know what it's made of and don't really care; given the price, I never expected koa! It's small and light, the action and intonation is good and the tuners hold the tuning well. Also, it's available left handed, so kudos just for that.
Bottom line; don't expect a Martin, but do expect a fun, great looking and very playable parlour guitar.

The nut slot for the high E string was cut slightly to deep, causing the open string to buzz. I inserted a small piece of paper between the string and the nut and that completely fixed the issue.

Other than that, the guitar sounds and looks great and is a pleasure to play, especially considering the price.

Good Value for the Money
Leftyfriend 27.01.2020
It's a great little guitar for the money. The only odd thing is that the fret markers are painted on and wear over time. This is great for beginners or a nice little parlor guitar to play while you're sitting on the couch.
