Essential for properly recording pedals
SJG 16.07.2025
A few uses I have found for this that may not be immediately obvious:
- record your instrument or microphone and your pedals separately from each other.
- use your pedal (or any unbalanced effect unit) as an insert effect in your DAW, and balance the wet/dry signal of both.
- use it for just a stereo DI (return jacks) or just a stereo reamp box (send jacks)
- use the send jacks for anything else besides pedals that receives an unbalanced signal, like a hi-fi amplifier etc.

This unit gives ultimate control over all hardware (unbalanced) effects units and incredible flexibility in such a compact unit.

It’s a great piece of gear for a professional audio engineer, but giving 3 stars because it’s very expensive for what it does. Radial’s prices seem to be going up constantly and quickly, especially for this product in particular. I saw this for £350 only a year or two ago, no idea why it’s almost £450 now in such a short space of time (it even went up while waiting for this review to be published… 25% markup for the same product as it has always been, why?) The rack mounting ears alone are up to £76… are you serious?

Cannot recommend a purchase unless the price goes down to a sensible level. Purchase some cheaper DI boxes and reamp boxes instead for the same functionality.
