Pyramid Nickel Classics Light 009-042

String Set for GuitarThe special core of these strings is the round core wire of the wound strings. Normal strings have hexagonal (hexagonal) core wires, which simplify production and reduce manufacturing costs.

Round core wires, on the other hand, must be wound with the utmost care in order to ensure uniform pressure of the nickel wire. The extra cost is worth it.

The PYRAMID Nickel Classic strings have a significantly improved vibration response, resulting in a very long sustain of the string (sustain) and a consistent tone development.

Important: The wound strings cannot be simply cut because the nickel round wound would unravel immediately. First twist the string sharply and then cut the string behind the bend.

  • Pure nickel
  • String gauges .009, .012, .016, .022, .032, .042

The ultimate Vintage Rock strings
Anonymous 02.12.2016
I use these strings on my Fender Strat. I was looking for a kind of string which could give my a vintage tone. And that's what I found finally.

As I've put Pyramid on my Strat I noticed that the sound was way deeper than usual. It reminded my a lot of Hendrix. There's surely something special about these strings and I think I'm going to buy more. Anyway the things that immediately jumped to my ears are:
1) nice smooth sound, if you like 60s and early 70s rock.
2) They cut the mix more than I could imagine (and that's maybe the most important thing)
3) So easy to play (maybe too easy, I think I'll go for 10-46 next time)
4) Great sound if you play slide

Another good thing about these is sustain. And they also keep the tuning quite well. ANYWAY consider that you'll have to adjust intonation on your guitar a little bit. This, as far as I know, is due to the round core. We're talking about minor adjustments, nothing dramatic. Worth the price.

If you're looking for mellow strings, for creamy good old blues and vintage rock, this is the way to go.

Best 5-star Stratocaster sound in my life.
Mr. Fox 03.02.2022
Well, I thought I`ll try something new, because I was still looking for the best sound. But then... sound wise these strings blew my long-term all-around favorite Ernie Balls (10-46, Slinkies) out of the water and apparently, existence. Sorry, Ernies, you served me well, but then... both nickel plated steel and Cobalt series just were no match for the Pyramids. Same with D`Addarios and countless Dunlop types. These are THE BEST SOUNDING Strat strings I have ever, ever, ever played. Mellow, round, but not dull - I guess many of you have looked for such combination. Raw, but not harsh; vintage-y volume, but not weak. The nickel is soft as a material though, so the string life expectancy is reduced, but that is expected. I find them to be simply the best strings ever. Try, if you are searching for the vintage tones and you shouldn`t be disappointed.
Works wonders with overdriven tones and hearty attack. An absolute unit for rock, punk-rock and indie and good old blues, so, very versatile as well. Try it.

What a difference
NevermindMe 24.12.2021
I had D'Addario 9.5-44 on my Strat prior to putting these on this afternoon. I can tell you, these strings are light years apart tonally in the best possible way. Plugged straight in the amp, with a little boost, half-cocked wah on the neck pickup, everything sounds so right. I may have found the strings for me.
Warning: read the label inside; if you do not have locking tuners, pay attention to the instructions for stringing to avoid ruining these wonderful strings.

Fantastic sound
Parsifal51 22.12.2018
I play blues/jazz with a Les Paul studio or Tele (witt Lundgren pickups) on a Fender tweed clone (5E3). A flexible sound that reacts to all what you do with your picking technic is extremely important to me and that the sound is NOT harsh. For this those strings are absolutely perfect!
If you are looking for Heavy Metal sound or similar, and if max output is your desire, than look elsewhere.
