Good, but something's missing

Don't get me wrong - it's a good compressor. It does everything right and has some nice features. And yet, for some inexplicable reason, I find myself wanting to like it more than I actually do. It doesn't smack as hard as other FET plugins can, the lack of a threshold control makes the clipper fundamentally pointless, the saturation can sound nice but is fairly all-or-nothing. I've found it to be a very 'jack of all trades, master of none' plugin, but your mileage may vary. For me, I always find myself reaching for the UAD 1176 if I want a FET and a slew of other plugins if I need saturation, one of which is Pulsar's own Echorec, and that one, I do recommend.

Por su comportamiento y sonido, es la versión pluguin de este tipo de compresor que más me recuerda a las unidades hardware.

Der 1178 klingt anders als ein 1176 - kann aber schlecht beschreiben was der Unterschied ist. Die Transienten klingen irgendwie anders. Ich habe ihn gekauft um die akustik Gitarre aufzuwerten was er auch gut kann. Einer der ganz wenigen Kompressoren der auf Akustikgitarre gut klingt (für meine Ohren - ist ja alles subjektiv). Auf Schlagzeug und Percussion hab ich ihn noch nie ausprobiert. Installation war problemlos, die Software ist stabil und die Rechnerlast ist akzeptabel. Ein gutes Produkt.
