Very good.
Anonymous 15.07.2014
Very nice clean channel which also takes stomps boxes and multi FX very well. The overdrive channel is pretty good at low to moderate gain but not so good at high gain. The Bandit is tough and loud. DI out is handy, as is the boost which works on both channels.

The only downsides are that the drive channel is pretty hissy (but it's not noticeable while playing), that there's no included footswitch and there's no master volume.

Not perfect, but a good, solid gigging amp capable of good tones. There's a reason it's been a best seller for decades.

Beast in every single ways

Roaring for 20 years, this amp is the defenition of solid evolution. With its great and responsive sound, it delivers the perfect combination between valve and solid-state amps. Versatile and suitable for the majority of musical genres. The only cons I tag are its heavy weight. Carrying this amp for rehearsals twice a week can be a serious problem. If you can leave it at the rehearsal room, it is the best of both world. I only rate it 4* because of the massive weight. Congrats Peavey!

N
A really good overall amp
Nickwolf 01.10.2020
I wanted to have an amp with a decent clean sound and I was looking for it since sometime already. I play jazz rock and anything in between. I did not want tubes/valves as I want something maintenance free. This amp has a sweet clean sound transparent and clear and loud (seriously). The distortion is a bad ass one and it comes with reverb and loop effects... perfect for my needs and a great price. I wish I had paid attention to this amp earlier in my life... I love it.

This amp is relatively good overall. It has its own pros and cons, just like many other amps in the same price range really. These pros and cons are mostly just a matter of personal opinion.
Pros:
- Large, powerful amp, can produce extremely high volume and is perfect for gigs.
- Many different settings and sounds you can get, as each channel has 3 slightly different voicings as well as a control for the built-in reverb, it's quite versatile
- Has features at the back panel such as FX loop, and adjustment for damping, power and controlled speaker output

Cons:
- This amp is heavy, even for its size
- The overall sound of the amp in my opinion is a little bit on the muddy side, particularly on the distortion channel, getting a somewhat decent sound took a bit more tweaking than you'd think.

In general this is a good amp with Peavy's signature TransTube technology. The bandit 112 has always been a popular amp among low to moderate budget rigs, with its versatility, there are many different sounds you can get from it and it can reach some extremely high volumes. I personally think the original verson of the Peavy bandit (the red stripe) sounded a bit better and if it was still available I would have chosen that one... Although this one is still decent
