Improvements compared to the conventional clarinet barrel: the Zoom barrel has a continuous bore in every length setting and is not interrupted in the outer part either
An adjustment ring (with scale) makes tuning settings precisely visible and adjustable
Turning the adjusting ring allows the barrel to move apart without changing the axial direction
The sound characteristics are improved by the barrel

One always assumes that the more gimmicky an accessory is, the more compromising it is on the tone quality. I would say this is not the case with this product. It fits perfectly on my Buffet R13 and delivers a deeper sound than its stock barrel. My clarinet could get very flat in winter and very sharp in summer here in Melbourne, Australia. The adjustable range this barrel provides is perfect for our climate. Also, it only minimally offsets note tuning across the range, and when it does, the pitch of the note can be adjusted comfortably with embouchures.

Very helpful

It's very functional for quick and easy intonation fixes, especially helpful for playing in chamber music and orchestras. It's simple, it works, and the sound still resonated very well. I definitely recommend this barrel!

Qualitäts und Klang Unterschiede
Waldemar Press 26.08.2024
