The original OCD is great for synths, so I thought this small replica would do the trick, but I'm afraid it doesn't: no matter how I match gain stages, there is no way to prevent this from hard clipping at least a little, which is not what you want from an overdrive on a synth.
The sound tone is ok though: if you set the tone knob at 12 o'clock and turn off the overdrive, it sounds as transparent as the original OCD.
It's just that the pedal has not enough overhead.
Also, the bypass button is loud and clunky when pressed, to the point I wondered if it was broken or something, but no, it does work correctly, it's just that loud. It's a true bypass though, so that's great to disable it without affecting the signal in any way.
Other than that, the metal body is really tough, but no battery operation and no included power supply, so get your own.
Maybe for guitars this clone of the OCD is good enough, but not for synths, sadly.
