Smart electric guitar by design

Mooer GTRS Guitar Professional 801 Fiesta Red, front view

The Mooer GTRS Guitar Professional 801, shown here in its Fiesta Red finish, combines the advantages of a classic ST-style electric guitar with the versatility of a state-of-the-art DSP sound processing system to offer users a true all-rounder that can be played just about everywhere, from the living room to the stage. Manufactured using classic woods for the body and the neck, and equipped with a flexible pickup configuration comprising a humbucker and two single coils, the sophisticated Mooer GTRS Professional 801 allows guitarists to not only create the typical ST-style guitar sound but also harness numerous digital tone shaping options thanks to the integrated GTRS processing system. This smart guitar is packed with more than 120 effects, eleven different guitar simulations, and various practice and learning tools – including a looper, a drum machine, and many more – which can be wirelessly controlled via Bluetooth 5.0 using Mooer's GTRS App on every type of smartphone or tablet PC.

A carefully crafted ST model

The typical "analogue" ST-style sound of the Mooer GTRS Professional 801 is ensured by three pickups, which can be selected via a five-way selector and further adjusted using the designated volume and tone control knobs. The two GTRS SC-1N AlNiCo V single coils in the neck and middle positions provide a tonal range that goes from crystal-clear through to a mild overdrive, while the GTRS HM-1B AlNiCo V bridge humbucker allows a fat, hum-free sound to be created – even with added distortion. The roasted flamed maple neck and fingerboard with 22 medium stainless steel frets combine an appealing design with a comfortable playing feel, and the chrome-plated hardware, which comprises a Wilkinson VS 50 II tremolo and six GTRS locking machine heads on a natural-finish headstock, ensures reliable tuning stability with moderate use of the tremolo.

GTRS Intelligent Processing System

Thanks to its 126 effects, eleven guitar simulations, and numerous tools, the Mooer GTRS Intelligent Processing System opens up a whole world of tone modelling options for an extremely wide range of applications. All of the settings can be easily accessed and controlled via a smartphone or tablet PC using the GTRS App. Users are provided with a comprehensive range of effects, such as chorus, delay, and distortion, as well as authentic simulations of both acoustic and electric guitars alongside four presets and further useful functions, which can be directly activated via the special GTRS control knob on the Professional 801 FRD's pickguard. The optional GWF4 pedal with four footswitches and Bluetooth connectivity offers even more control options for the GTRS system to make life easier for the guitarist, particularly during live gigs. The USB-OTG port, which is located next to the jack socket on the guitar's bottom edge, enables direct recording on a mobile device and recharging of the internal Li-Ion battery.

For newcomers and semi-pros

Its vast selection of analogue and digital sounds as well as numerous useful tools make the Mooer GTRS Guitar Professional 801 FRD eminently suitable for semi-pros who are looking for versatile tonal options for a wide range of applications, from the rehearsal room to the stage, but also for ambitious newcomers who want to hone their skills and further develop their sound in a creative way. To this end, the GTRS Professional 801 also puts a looper, a drum machine, and additional tools at the users' fingertips in the GTRS App – for endless hours of practising and jamming fun. The integrated battery provides a reliable operating time of up to ten hours without the need for recharging, which is more than sufficient for most performances, including long live gigs with numerous encores and extended jam sessions in the park with headphones on.

About Mooer

Mooer is based in the Chinese city of Shenzhen and has been making products for guitarists since 2010, which include compact single pedals through to multi-effects units and compact amplifiers. The company initially produced a range of mini pedals before making perhaps its most significant breakthrough in 2016 with the sophisticated Ocean Machine delay pedal, which was designed in collaboration with Devin Townsend. Mooer's product range now also includes solutions that feature amp modelling, IR-based speaker simulation, and matching equalisers, and the company's focus remains firmly on the use of digital technology.

Perfect combination of analogue and digital features

Whether users want to practise or jam at home or create a perfectly matched sound for on-point use in recordings, band rehearsals, or live gigs, the Mooer GTRS Guitar Professional 801 FRD with its duo of high-quality single coils and a bridge humbucker reliably delivers the desired "analogue" sound – no matter whether it is battery-powered or not – and allows it to be further processed using the digital sound processing system, which provides access to numerous tone shaping and editing options as well as various useful tools without the need for integrating external effects. The GTRS Professional 801 is also incredibly easy to use thanks to the Mooer GTRS App, which is available for iOS and Android devices.
