Amazing Memotron!!!

The first thing that strikes you when you open the box and remove the instrument is the size, bigger than I imagined.
The build quality is probably the best I have seen for a desktop module, this thing is built like a tank!
It looks sturdy, and feels like nothing is going to damage it.
I bought this as I couldn't afford the keyboard version, and I'm not at all disappointed.
So easy to use.
I just plugged mine straight into my Roland D50, and I was off and running!
No need to wait for booting up, this came with the three sounds I wanted from the Memotron already set as the default A,B and C sounds - flute/strings/choir!
The quality of the samples are amazing, first class clarity!
You can control how crisp you want them to sound simply by turning the tone knob.
Easy to use, and work out what is what, even although it only came with a German instruction manual.
I downloaded an English manual of the keyboard ed version, controls are exactly the same.
Well done Manikin-Electronic, this instrument is built to last a lifetime, unlike the original Mellotron which apparently broke down every night and was not designed for touring.
Thanks again, I am so happy with this...

Fascinating freak product - love or headstocks

Peter3892, 20.08.2015
1. Fascination:
Which seemed unachievable in my youth, is now "just so" to buy - and despite the felt high price in relation to the original really cheap.
2. Paradox:
Rubbing the eyes: Now, thanks to the technical development, we are finally able to isolate the imperfections and quirks of the originals and now use them precisely as precisely as digitally possible.
3. Sounds:
fantastic. for real. Of course, tastefulness - who is still "young" and does not know the original, should first check on the manufacturer's side to avoid unrealistic expectation. It was tears in my eyes ... a re-listening with old times!
A small but: in so far as possibly uniform, that can not be accepted itself. Let's say that we all who we call the great module our own, cook our ideas from the identical sounds. How far this is carried will be seen. But you can recharge. So we all hang on the drop of the re-usable sounds. If this is based solely on the basis of the gradually digitized fundus of the original tapes, the supply will be finite.
4. Haptics:
Class. I need in every respect something to touch. No computer mouse can be so sexy! The hammer is to be able to switch between 3 loaded sounds live or sometimes the chorus while driving down at half speed down! Freak product far from the smooth mainstream!
5. Price-performance:
The advertising motto for the Oberheim Matrix 1000 expander was in the 80s: 1000.-DM for 1000 sounds = 1 sound for 1 DM. Now we are at 1000? For 100 sounds. Sounds similar ... but the times have changed and the standards moved. But gasoline does not cost more 1.30 DM per liter. So: the price is felt high, but a very sincere thanks to the developers, that they have grown to such an exotic and with so much dedication have realized. I am so enthusiastic that I have already forgotten the price and enjoy the fun of the part from full features.
6. Summary:
Great joy. Powerful sound. Full points.
7. Outlook:
The HiTec of today will be tomorrow's electronic waste. Probably never again will a single device reach the cult status of a mackenreichen, pflegeintensiven and really expensive original. What happiness. What a sadness.
