Lange suchte ich bei Thomann in der Beckenabteilung nach einem dünnen 20“-Ride-Becken, das meinen Vorstellungen entspricht. Eigentlich wollte ich ein Meinl-Ride kaufen, nahm mir dann aber die Zeit, mich durch die bekannten Marken zu testen. Überraschenderweise blieb ich beim Istanbul Agop hängen. Es spricht dynamisch sehr gut an und produziert schönen Pling. Insgesamt ist sein Klang zwar nicht so linear wie ein 2002er Paiste, aber dennoch relativ klar definiert und strahlend, ohne sich frequenziell zu sehr auszubreiten. Beim Ride-Spiel entsteht ein angenehmer, leichter Rauschteppich. Es lässt sich gut kontrolliert spielen und taugt bei entsprechender Anschlagsdynamik auch als warm klingendes Chrash. Ein stilistisch vielseitig einsetzbares, professionelles Ride-Becken zum moderaten Preis, was Freude macht.
