These strings are a good surprise: cheaper than the big brands, but very good. I will go on buying these ones now, and showing it to the closest friends.

These strings are indeed coated! Not the thickest coating mind you, but it infinitely increases your play time, reduces the amount of string breakages and costs only a fraction of other coated brands, especially the big E! I cannot and will not complain. Another great HB product.

Har kommit att använda Elixirsträngar allt mer genom åren för att slippa byta så ofta pga att de blir skitiga. För några år sedan testade jag dock Harley Bentons klädda strängar och blev smått mörkrädd, de var inte sköna att spela på och lät inte bra heller, två ganska dåliga egenskaper... Nu har de dock utvecklats ordentligt åt rätt håll och när jag spelar av en sträng och inte vill "offra" finsträngar genom att plocka en sträng från ett set så kan man ta av dessa och komma lindrigare undan.
På billiga gitarrer gör sig dessa tillräckligt bra som helhet så detta är bra strängar för priset.

Das war leider nix!

Bei so günstigen Saiten musste ich natürlich ausprobieren, wie sie gegen die teurere Konkurrenz abschneiden. Ich habe sie auf meine Lakewood Dreadnought aufgezogen und wurde ganz schnell enttäuscht:

Zunächst krachte die hohe E-Saite beim Stimmen immer wieder, bis mit einem Knall der Ball-End abriss und im Inneren der Gitarre verschwand. Sie Saite ist dadurch unbrauchbar geworden. Das habe ich noch nie erlebt.

Die A-Saite war nicht oktavrein, fast einen Halbton höher war der gegriffene Ton im Vergleich zum Flageolett. Auch das ist mir noch nicht passiert. Die restlichen Saiten waren auf den ersten kurzen Blick okay.

Ich habe den Satz gleich wieder entfernt und bin wieder bei der teureren Konkurrenz gelandet, derzeit mit einem Satz Fender 860L, der mir bisher sehr gut gefällt.
