Powerful Synth Engine with a great controller

Great synth and controller, but not easy to play. Don't expect to be able to play fast lead lines straight off, but it is rewarding and enjoyable to play. It lends itself to slower more melodic and expressive lines anyway.

Very, very expressive instrument

I come from a keyboard background, so naturally I had some difficulty in this "fretless" experience. But this opened up a ton of opportunities for expressing myself. After a year I still discover sounds, and new firmwares do come out and add presets and sound capabilities.

I highly recommend the Haken engine, its physical modelling is fantastic to my ear. Of course I use it with vst instruments as an mpe controller too. But standalone is so good..

Kompromisslösung mit Mängeln

Es sollte einerseits ein Ribbon für VST-Plugins (CS80 etc.) via USB-MIDI auf dem PC sein, andererseits ein preiswerter Zugang zur Haken-Sound-Engine. Was allerdings definitiv ein Design-Mangel ist, ist die Unterstützung der vertikalen Auslenkung (Finger "nach hinten" bewegen): Nicht nur, dass dieser Regelweg wegen des sehr schmalen Ribbons extrem knapp ist (dickere Finger erreichen min und max kaum), sondern Richtung rechtem Ende (hohe Töne) funktioniert es konstruktionsbedingt gar nicht mehr - da ist der neuerdings wohlweislich angebotene kleine Zusatzhebel für diesen Parameter nur eine Notlösung, weil damit die zweite Hand wieder blockiert und damit die Grundidee ad absurdum geführt ist. Wer die volle Funktionalität genießen will, kommt leider an den teuren "richtigen" Continuum nicht vorbei. Für einfache Ribbon-Zwecke und/oder MIDI-Ansteuerung (nur USB) der Haken-Engine als Synth ist das ContinuuMini OK.
