Having lived with this guitar for a while, I'm in a good position to evaluate it now without the bias of new guitar syndrome.
The maple construction lends itself to a bright tone, possible lacking a little at the bass end despite the large body.
The electronic system is better than adequate. You can't quite get the jangle of a true electric 12 sting like a Gretsch or Rickenbacker, but you can get close. Acoustically, it records well with condenser mics.
The less than good.....the nut was poorly cut, the high A string is cut far too deeply such that one often misses it when picking.
The tuners are of a lower quality than one might expect for a guitar at this price point.
Both issues are fixable - a new nut and replacement tuners but really shouldn't have to be fixed in the first place.

Pretty good for my first 12 string

Not bad over all for a budget model. Nice rounded sound and a good pickup with a handy low end/bass control. Pretty chunky neck which takes some getting used to (I've played 12s with thinner necks than this one). Lovely jumbo body and great looking guitar. 12 strings are Gretch's speciality and for the price this isn't a bad one to start with... I may not hang on to this one for very long as I'm sure there are much nicer ones but its serving a purpose for the time being before I upgrade. Pretty happy with this one.

For the price range this is a beatifully constructed guitar. The woods are quite plain but the grain is nice & the dark wood neck is a good contrast.Understated.The neck profile is slim & easily managed.Takes a bit of getting used to from a six string, but not too difficult to play. The sound is very bright & really rings out & resonates. The two strings plucked together sound really beautiful.Recommended.
