Gretsch G5230 Electromatic Jet FTBK LH

It's a beautiful guitar, build quality it great, setup is almost perfect out of the box, and those blacktop FilterTrons sound amazing ! Got two of them in different colors, absolutely love them.

Sound is warm, rich, organic, plenty of dynamics. These blacktops retain that classic Gretsch sound but with more bite and more gain available. I play progressive rock with some heavier parts, leads, and some ambient parts with tons of delays and reverbs and stuff, and these pickups cover my use perfectly. With my amp on the clean channel pushed to 60/70% I can go from a nice warm clean to a punchy natural breakup just by varying my playing or moving the volumes on the guitar.

Also love the controls on these guitars, you get a master tone, a master volume, and then an individual volume for each pickup allowing you to mix both pickups to your liking. That's super useful to me and something I couldn't live without now.

For this particular model just be aware the colors in the pictures are a bit off when it comes to the pickguard and the body binding. The binding is a lot more "cream" than white, and the pickguard isn't white at all, it's a kind of metallic silver which doesn't really show in the pictures. Not what I was expecting from the pictures when I received it to be honest, I'm trying to find a replacement pickguard or considering painting the original one since I really don't like that silver. In the meantime I've simply removed the pickguard and it actually looks great like that !

Ich hatte zwischen dieser Gretsch und einer Custom Epiphone Les Paul geschwankt. Als Linkshänder ist es ja immer schwierig, Gitarren im Laden zu kaufen. Der Laden meines Vertrauens hatte beide Modelle vor Ort, aber natürlich nur als Rechtshänder Gitarren. Trotzdem hatte ich mir bei der Gitarren mal in Natur angeschaut und in den Händen gehalten und konnte leider in dem Moment keine Entscheidung treffen. Aufgrund des Sounds, mit dem ich mich dann über YouTube Videos beschäftigt habe, es ist die Gretsch geworden und ich kann nur sagen, dass es die wichtige Entscheidung war. Ich liebe diese Gitarre.
Qualität Technisch kann sie nicht ganz bei meinem Telecaster mithalten, aber wen überrascht das. Zwischen diesen beiden Gitarren liegen rund 1800 € Unterschied.

Die Gretsch ist klasse. Sie ist super verarbeitet, keine scharfen Kanten bei den Bundstäbchen, wie man es immer öfter von Epiphone liest, sie fühlt sich toll an und der Sound hat mich wirklich umgehauen. Der Neck- und Bridge Pick-up Klingel unterschiedlich, aber da man wie gewohnt zwischen den Pick-ups hin und her schalten kann, bieten sich durch die Funktion plus den Toneregler viele Sound Möglichkeiten. Gerade der Bridge Pick-up bringt eine Art Twang mit sich. Vermutlich ist es das falsche Wort, aber der einzige Weg, wie ich es beschreiben könnte.
Was mir letztendlich besser gefiel als bei der Les Paul ist dass die Gretsch im Clean Mode einen sehr klaren Sound hat, etwas, was mir bei der Les Paul gefehlt hat. Wenn man also eine Gitarre möchte, mit der man sowohl klare Töne als auch einen kraftvollen, Heavy Sound mit Overdrive spielen will, ist das in meinen Augen die perfekte Kombination mit einem hervorragenden Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Ich muss dazu sagen, ich hab die Gitarre reduziert für 579 € gekauft, aber auch zum un reduzierten Preis bekommt man viel Gitarre, einen fabelhaften Sound mit großer Vielfalt (ohne Pedals) und tolle Qualität.

J'ai déjà quelques Grestch dont une B Setzer signature ; cette petite dernière est absolument excellente sur tous les points ( c'est mon avis ! )
La qualité de fabrication ( made in china ) est top : peinture, vernis, polissage des frettes, tenue de l'accord, micros , trebble bleed ....
La prise en main est très aisée.
Les sons sont dignes des plus grandes; branchée sur un Hot Rod Deluxe c'est rockabilly !!!!!!!

La seule chose que je regrette :
POURQUOI LES GAUCHERS N'ONT PAS LE DROIT AU MEME CHOIX QUE LES DROITIERS CHEZ GRETSCH ET CHEZ LES AUTRES AUSSI ( couleurs de guitares , modèles avec vibratos ........... )
