First Class Flying
Jonnyfmusic 27.06.2025
I have played guitar since the ‘80s and never owned a Flying V, so I took a gamble buying this guitar. Playable straight out of the box, very light weight with no noticeable neck dive, I hadn’t heard this set of pickups by Gibson and upon plugging into my Mesa Single Rectifier amp they sounded very good, aggressive and yet musical at the same time. Roll back the volume and a lush jazz tone is found on the neck front pickup. The rosewood fretboard is the nicest I have ever seen on a guitar in person and really smooth to play and the frets were smooth with no rough edges or fret sprout, although I did decide to get a set of Blocks on Ebony mother of pearl fretboard stickers from Neck Illusions in the USA to give the guitar a more Gibson Custom Shop look but that was a personal thing. The neck is comfortable to play and fast too with a solid set of chrome tuners that stay in tune. Standing up playing the guitar seems to sit better than my other guitars due to the shape I guess. The hard case is plush and included some nice case candy. I like the fact that I can stand the V up without needing a guitar stand. This truly is a first class electric guitar and I have to say I am very impressed with the overall build quality and sound, it gets played daily and I can highly recommend the guitar. Well done Gibson, five stars.

Für immer und ewig
MORTAR 05.09.2023
