Boomers strings 009

Good price for decent strings. At least freshly changed set is nicely balanced and smooth to play. Haven't yet used for a long, so can't tell about lifespan for those.
For the price it is even no problem to replace those strings 3-4 times insted of "normal" priced longer lasting ones! By the end of the day it all ends to personal preference though.

8's!
Bob @ Piedmont Guitars 09.06.2018
I was surprised at the longevity and sound quality of these strings. I expected a volume loss with such a thin string. It did not happen.
Many of the world's greatest guitars used 8's. I play blues, and I have arthritis creeping into my hands. Bending notes is getting harder each year. I decided to try using a lighter gauge string to see if it helped. While I got great results, I was worried they would wear out faster. They did not. In fact they are the longest lasting strings I have found so far. I have switched all of my guitars to 8's, and GHS Boomers have become the standard string for all of my builds, unless a customer asks for something else. If you have never tried Boomers, give them a shot. They are easy on your frets too!

A Great Value
dandelo 22.05.2014
Been using GHS GBXL Boomers for years. I switched to these many years ago after taking in a guitar to the store I purchased it from to have the action professionally set up. After getting my guitar back and playing it at home for awhile, I went back to the store to ask what strings the tech had installed because I really liked them. GHS Boomers .009-.042. In trying out two other gauges of GHS Boomers since, I find Boomers to be the best value for the money. My personal preference in gauge is .009-.042. Provided I wipe my GBXL's down with a bandana after each session, they retain flexibility and quality of tone for a good long time. As a comparison with at least one other brand, . While the initial tone and ring was superb, they didn't last anywhere near as long as GHS Boomers.
