Very good - unless you do a lot of palm muting

Good quality bridge with an interesting saddle design. If you palm mute a lot playing rhythm, for example playing punk or metal you might want to look elsewhere.

The problem is that the strings don't go across the top the saddle like a standard modern bridge. Instead they emerge from somewhere below the top of the saddle. Because of this resting your palm on the bridge doesn't mute the strings, instead you have to mute in front of the saddle on the string itself which is much harder to control. For the same reason the saddles feel unusually high off the body and can obstruct fast rhythms, especially when string skipping.

Admittedly a tele is not usually a heavy guitar and for some styles being prevented from muting may be an advantage.

Perfect for Tele with a humbucker

I bought this because I am making a custom Tele style guitar with a Gibson P-498T in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan P90 in the neck, so I wanted a good quality Tele style bridge, but a more modern one. It is great bridge, very adjustable, sturdy, heavy material. I think it's zinc with chrome plating. It is a lower range version of the other Babicz bridges. When I install it and try it I will write how it feels when played.

Böse Überraschung

Klasse Verpackung und alles dabei was Schrauben etc. angeht. Dann erst mal auf den Git.Body (US Tele-Standard) gelegt und überprüft ob die Abstände der Löcher für die Saiten mit denen im Body überein stimmten. Alles OK.

Die Bohrungen zur Befestigung stimmten nicht mit denen im Body überein, aber das wusste ich vorher. Da gibt es Unterschiede, das war für mich nicht so schlimm, weil ich das selber korrigieren kann.

Dann der Schock. Die Bridge ist etwa 5mm zu kurz. Die Pickup-Ausfräsung war deutlich zu erkennen. Der Abstand zum Pickguard war nun so groß, dass das Tele-Pickguard keine Ausfräsung für die Telebridge benötigen würde. Nichts passte optisch zusammen. Das sah alles überhaupt nicht gut aus. Zudem hätte ich ja auch noch an der Humbucker-Fräsung zusätzlich 5mm entfernen müssen.

Ich habe mir dann eine Günstige Humbucker-Telebridge-Variante für Zwanzig Euro von Rockinger gekauft.Auf diese habe ich dann die sehr guten Saitenreiter von der Babicz Bridge montiert. Die Welt war wieder in Ordnung. Unterm Strich ist es teurer als geplant, aber ich wollte auf keinen Fall auf die Babicz-Saitereiter verzichten.

Wenn in der Beschreibung bei Thomann eine Bemaßung enthalten gewesen wäre, hätte ich darauf reagieren können. Schade. Vielleicht passt die Bridge ja ganz hervorragend auf eine Cabronita Thinline Telecaster, aber dann muss seitens Thomann auch darauf hingewiesen werden.
