Sweet, sweet splashiness

This splash is currently above my highest tomtom, next to my left crash. I use it in fillings to get a groovy effect to my play.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this splash.
The tone is great, sustain is short/long enough and the over all sound is just pleasant, very pleasant. The sound is so soft; hitting it is like blowing off candles with ninja moves. Sharp and smooth.
Also, it doesn't have those annoying, ringing high frequencies while it's decaying after a hit. This is propably why it is so pleasant to my ear.

I need to get a 10" K-Custom Dark Splash too.

Sure, it was expensive compared to my 20¤ Orion splash, but now I know it was worth paying a little extra. I simply love playing that little thing, just because of the sound. Just thinking of the funny sweet sound it has makes me smile.

Zildjian K-Custom Splash | Beautiful and very very smooth

As far as splashes are concerned, it's often difficult to find one that just sits nicely between the darks of crashes and the highs of rides.

They are often too bright, too clangy (bell like) or just plain overpowering.

With a splash, that isn't set up as a stack, I look for subtlety. Out of many I tried, this 8" K-Custom splash cymbal really was the part. It's pitch perfect.

It provides a perfect chromatic contrast between my K-Custom 18" Dark Crash, my 16 K Constantinople and 18" K Constantinople crashes.

Not too volatile, nor understated. Just ... perfect darkness.
8" is a good middle ground as well. 6" can often be too high... 10/12" a little too low.

I can't recommend this splash cymbal enough.

War bei mir zwar ursprünglich nur als Ergänzung zum 6" Splash gedacht, ist aber mittleirweile das meistgenutzte Splas von mir. Der Sound hat echte Allround Qualitäten, die Verarbeitung stimmt, und der Preis ist einem Profi Instrument angepasst, testen lohnt sich!
