Yamaha YTR-6335RC Commercial

This is a great trumpet for commercial/lead playing. The sound on the brighter side and you can get a lot of the brighter overtones out of the trumpet which helps to cut through a big band and be easily heard, the trumpet does not close-up in the high register and above high C as some intermediate and professional trumpets may do when playing high.

Bear in mind when purchasing as this is not an all-round trumpet and may not have the desired sound to fit into a classical setting, given its brighter sound tendency.

It is a very efficient horn and doesn't take much to get the desired sound out of this trumpet. It does respond well to mouthpiece choice.

There are a few things to bear in mind, the finger buttons are quite small for me personally ( I ordered custom buttons which made a big difference in comfort). There are some specific tuning tendencies on this trumpet to be mindful of as compared to trumpets from other manufacturers.

Overall, this is fantastic commercial trumpet at a great price point. There are some specific considerations with this trumpet and it is not an all-round trumpet, but definitely a fantastic choice and doesn't hold you back from achieving your desired sound and playing.

The YTR6335 RC Commercial trumpet is one of the best trumpets I have played. Excellent intonation on all scales from pp to fff. exceptional projection and also a very warm sound when played softly. It exceeded my expectations in all areas of brass playing and I use it as my main instrument from small band, or jazz chair, or lead in a Big band. This is the best money I have ever spent on a Trumpet, and the usual Thomann service is simply the best there is.

Spielbarkeit ist sehr gut, der Klang für eine "Commercial" Trompete gut formbar - beißt wenn es soll, aber sehr kontrolliert. Ansprache und Höhe wie zu erwarten gut. Intonation und Verarbeitung sehr gut. Mir persönlich leider vom Sound und vom Spielgefühl zu eng. Den Sound empfinde ich als konzentriert und eng, er "öffnet" nicht. Für viele Spielsituationen sicher gut und sogar wünschenswert (da durchsetzungsfähig), gerade in großen Ensembles (Bigband, Pop, auch Blasorchester), für solistischen Einsatz hat es mir weniger gefallen.

Délaissant ma YTR 5335 GS II, au son brillant jusqu'au La3, mais se fermant ensuite, et pas très juste, je recherchais d’abord une trompette professionnelle à perce M . Pour pouvoir essayer les trompettes de son choix, il faut se résigner à sillonner la France et l’Europe ! pour atterrir chez Thomann où j’ai aussi testé la YTR 6335 RC, après n’avoir lu que des avis positifs. J’ai été séduit par la facilité de jeu, l’accès aisé des graves et des aigus, la légèreté et la justesse, et le clinquant ! Une fois reçue j’ai été un peu déçu par le manque de brillance et de largeur du son. Vu de l’intérieur le bloc pistons fait bas de gamme, j’ai retiré quelques copeaux. J’avais la sensation d’une course des pistons plus longue et l’anneau main droite à une position différente. Au prix d’une adaptation , mon son s’est amélioré, je l’ai gardée finalement. Une bonne trompette à un coût attractif, plus adaptée au répertoire variétés que classique. Médaille d’or pour les services Thomann !
