Waves SSL 4000 Collection

Channel strips: nice to have EQ and comp within the same plugin, makes mixing easier. The EQ is not very subtle, it brings out a growl that is sometimes useful and sometimes a little much. It's not the EQ you will choose to fix that one annoying frequency. The channel compressor is my favourite part of these plugins, it's a compressor that allows for some moderate to wild sqeeze before the sound gets weird, nice! Turning the knobs using mouse is a bit fiddly, this plugin would probably benefit from an external controller to streamline the work flow.
Bus compressor: I have to admit that this plugin was a dealbreaker when I decided to buy the set, the sought after SSL bus comp! It's even more transparent than the channel comp (which is expected) and sounds good on almost all settings. I like to mix in subgroups, so in a full mix there might be 4-5 instances of this compressor running, in parallell and series. As long as you keep the ratio on moderate levels, this works wonders.
Overall, a good toolkit for mixing. Definitely adds flavour, but almost always in a good manner.

Jes, nyt on taas erittäin hyvä paketti Wavesilta! Huippusoundisia plugareita jotka tuo vähän aidon analogimiksauksen hajua mukaan mixiin! Ostin paketin pari kuukautta sitten ja olen päässyt käyttämään sitä yhdellä pitkäsoitolla ja kahdella EP:llä. Olen tyytyväinen etenkin kompressorien soundiin, voittaa kyllä kaikki muut Wavesin kompurat monessa käytössä soundiltaan. Kanavalohkoistakin on ollut hyötyä, olen tykännyt käyttää presettejä lähtöalustana ja muokkaillut niistä sitten soundit kohdalleen. Etenkin laulupresetit ovat mielestäni hyviä.
Huonona puolena se, että onhan tämä laadusta huolimatta normaalihintaisena vähän kallis siihen nähden mitä rahaa vastaan saa... Onneksi Wavesilla on usein kamppanjoita...

Mielestäni parhaita Wavesin efektejä soundiltaan, mitä olen käyttänyt.

This collection from waves is Possibly the finest plug that I used to mix with to date. it adds space, depth and warmth to everything I have mixed thus far.
As soon as I got the licences through from Waves I was up and running.
The compressor on the E Channel is very handy and easily dialed in, as is the on board gate/expander. There is an input and output gain controls and a phase switch. Sweepable high, and low pass filters, along with sweepable high, high/mid, low/mid, and low filters make for a powerfull EQ all in the same plug. Adjustable Q on the mid filters, and bell or shelf settings on the high and low filters make it even more usefull. The G Channel is more or less the same setup, with a much cleaner, un-colored sound. The SSL Master bus comp is included and is a fantastic sounding compressor on anything you throw at it.

Very useful plugin. The channel strip has one of the best compressor I've ever used before. Easy to dial sound that exactly needed. No more searching and tweaking for a hours, I can get the sound within a couple minutes.
It's also has very good presets from famous mixing engineers , this is smart and useful too.
The plugin adds some depth and punch to the mix right out of the box so you can make your mix sound better just by adding it to each channel and to the master track.
