Good build quality and finish, lacking sound

I've always been a fan of Tama drums, and this drum kit is exceptionally well made, with a great finish and solid hardware. However, the most critical aspect—the sound—is lacking.

I find it challenging to tune these drums and achieve a sound that suits my preference. Despite trying various drumheads, the sound remains thin with minimal sustain.
When I play, the drums don't feel like a premium instrument, which is disappointing given the build quality.

The craftsmanship of the drum kit itself is impressive, with smooth and even bearing edges, but the overall feel and sound do not meet my expectations.
