perfect deal for what it does

I have a 5.1 music composition studio and I needed at the end to volume-control the 6 channels simultaneously. First I started of with Blue Sky BMC MKIII, but it turned out it was not possible to attenuate the volume until zero, which is very very annoying.
So I choose to replace the BMC with Volume 8 by SPL. Well.... I have to say this is a perfect product. Price is reasonably alright. Build quality outstanding. Quality of the analogue signal processing too. Operation is the most simple.
Highly recommended.....!

As expected

I purchased SPL Volume 8 to establish a multichannel monitor speaker system. It receives audio signal from my desktop computer sound card and then feeds the signal to my monitors. Well, this sounds simple enough but without Volume 8 I suffered from severe noise and the lack of matching volume control.

To be honest, I am surprised that Volume 8 can reduce the noise by so much which my other amplifiers were not able to handle and even worsened.

I like the fact that this product does not have a power indicator light or anything else when in normal operating conditions, only a red mute light would come on when you depressed the mute button. However, you would forget about it and leave it on all day without noticing quite easily.

DB25 snake cables are expensive and it's hard to find a exact fit for your system but you can always make your own with a fraction of the price and yet higher quality.

Muy buen controlador de monitores

En el momento de completar un sitema 5.1 para mi estudio, estaba muy convencido de comprar el SPL SMC 2489, por sus prestaciones, los mutes y el atenuador, completísimo.

Finalmente me decanté por este otro modelo, mucho más senzillo y , en consecuencia, más económico.

Las desventajas con su competidor, evidentes; los controles de mutes y el atenuador, y la posiblidad de conmutar entre un sistema surround y otro estéreo diferente.

Las ventajas; un precio mucho más asequible y la posibilidad de completar un equipo 7.1 con el mismo controlador.

En cuanto al sonido, no hay duda que és un producto SPL de alta gama con unas prestaciones solo comparable a otros modelos de la misma marca.

Un consejo, apáguenlo siempre con el mute apretado (led encendido), así nunca habrá duda sobre si está en funcionamiento.
