Great mouthpiece!

I have YTS-62 purple logo and have played it with Yamaha 4c mouthpiece which comes with it. Wanted to update my mp and ordered this from Thomann. I couldn’t guess how big difference are between these mps. Otto Link is easier to play and its sound is mellow and superb. An excellent choice for me.

The ligature could be better.

I like this mouthpiece

I'm one of those people who have paid a lot of money for expensive mouthpieces only to find they wern't right. This is a cheaper mouthpiece and I went for a narrower opening. Well it plays easily without squeeks and squawkes. The low notes are beautiful and the general tone is soft but full bodied, perhaps better for smooth jazz than cutting rock. This is definitely my current favourite mouthpiece. The bore is a bit wider than my other mouthpieces so it can be loose but gently heating the cork with a match or lighter helps to swell the cork for a snug fit. My next buy will be the metal version which I hope will also be an easy blow but project more for rock/pop stage performances.

Was sol, ich sagen ? Otto Link kanns einfach. Die Tone Edge Kunststoff Mundstücke mit einer 6er Bahn spielen sich einfach gut. Sie gehen gut los und der Ton ist modulationsfähig und tragfähig. Nichts für extreme Jazzer, aber für Bigband,Pop und Klassik durchaus vielseitig einsetzbar. Die Highnotes gehen gut los und die Tiefen klingen fett. Mit einem leichten Blatt kann es durchaus auch mal "dreckig" klingen. Weicher und wärmer als Jody Jazz. Für unter100.-€ einfach unschlagbar. Ich spiele es auf dem Alt-,Tenor- und Sopransax. Seit dieser Woche auch auf der Klarinette. Die oft zitierte "Qualitätsstreuung" kann ich nicht bestätigen, bei mir gingen alle auf Anhieb los und sind sauber verarbeitet! Eine gute Wahl.
