Poor ligature

The mouthpiece might be good but the lousy ligature took away my enthusiasm to try it out more. Wake up there in Otto Link! If you have good mounth piece don't spoil it with poor ligature.

Good Standard Mouthpiece

I was looking for a Altosaxophone-Mouthpiece for a young student of mine, who wanted to go further into the Jazz-direction. He has been playing a Selmer C* for about three years and wanted a more modern and brighter sound.
We ordered some mouthpieces from different brands and tip openings and tested them for about 2 hours. In the end, we decided to take the Otto Link Tone Edge Alto 6*. Its tip opening is not too open for beginners/slightly more advanced players and the response we got out of it was very good. It has a round, full tone and you can play every register with it. It is not too bright though, so that you can perform in every genre from Jazz to Pop.

I would recommend this mouthpiece to everybody, who wants an allround mouthpiece that serves for many different fields.

I am a beginner on saxophone, but professional clarinet player, and I decided randomly to buy this mouthpiece to learn with. I learned to get a sound pretty much easy, and now after a month o f use I can say that it has an universal sound, you can either play jazz, rock and classic music. It is highly flexible, and you can have either mellow sound and metal sound. What I didn't like is that it has rather small and short shank and I had to modify a little the saxophone neck in order to have a correct position of mouthpiece, and of course, the intonation.

Very impressed with this mouthpiece again as I previously owned the Otto Link Tone edge 6 which the dog chewed :-) Very similar to the 6 but dose involve a little more air. Over all a very impressive mouthpiece with a lovely rich tone.
