The sound of early 50's P90

I was on the verge of breakdown choosing a set of P90's, searching on the interwebs for ideal P90 set, and pulled a trigger based on my gut feeling, and low and behold, on a mahogany body and neck with rosewood fretboard, 24,75" scale, it sounds just like I wanted. mid dirt, clear, focused, just like early Juniors and Specials based on a sound from youtubes. Only thing I don't like is it's a single wire conductor, so you can't pair them with a switch in series, it must go on a regular neck, both in parallel, bridge. and I wanted the middle position with a DPDT on-off-on switch.

Hot pickups

Really nice sounding pickups, rolling of volume to about 6 or 5 cleans them up while still preserving nice, usable tone. I don't play blues, hard rock or metal, so at first I thought that they will not be for my needs, but as I played with them a little more I discovered how good and usable they are for more than what I thought at first. Nice upgrade from gotoh p-90s

I've been playing them for two months since I installed them.
And.......those are for me the best p90 pickups ever.
I should do a set up on the guitar, adjust the action, frets, intonation.....but, the pickups are so good that I'm afraid to touch anything else on the guitar, I just simply play and enjoy.
Fantastic pickups.
As it says in the description,: Ideal for harder rock with more "dirt".
And that's true.
Pickups have balls, pull out from deep the best of sound, deeps are not muddy....they are pure and powerful, highs dont ring nonsense.

Powerful vintage tone with color and meaning......and they sound fantastic.

Ein P90er wie man ihn liebt

Hallo liebe Kollegen,

ich habe die beiden P90er in meine Gibson SG Special von 2012 (original mit Gibson Mini Humbucker ausgestattet) eingebaut. Der Einbau an sich war einfach, auch der Anschluss an die Potis im E-Fach sollte für einen Gitarristen mit leichten Löterfahrungen kein Problem darstellen. (Wenn Unsicherheit herrscht, Videos/Anleitungen gibt es genug im Internet UND Lollar Pickups hat eigens ein 7-teiliges Video hochgeladen, wo diese auch in eine SG eingebaut werden)

Zum Klang:
Ein himmelweiter Unterschied zu den originalen Pickups! Die P90er klingen fett, elegant und haben einen eindeutigen höheren Output. Mir hat bei den Mini-Humbuckern immer die Lautstärke des Bridge-Pickup nie gefallen, da dieser für mich immer zu leise war.
Ausgeglichen sind die P90er auch: der Bridge Pickup hat -5% (also weniger) und der Neck-Pickup hat +5% (also mehr) Output. An Midrange und Attack mangelt es überhaupt nicht. Man hört und spürt förmlich den Alnico 5 Magnet in voller fetter Stärke. Vollkommen zufrieden spiele ich meine SG - ein ganz anderes Spielgefühl. Ebenfalls bilde ich mir ein, dass die Pickups im Vergleich zu vorher leichter an einem Vollröhrenverstärker (in meine Fall ein Fender Blues Deluxe mit einem 12'' Celestion Creamback) verzerren - Feine Sache :)

Lieferumfang:
Geliefert wurden die Tonabnehmer in einer sicheren Plastikbox, inklusive Anleitung, Schrauben (ACHTUNG! ich musste mir leider Pickupschrauben nachbestellen, da ich den Schraubenkopf leider etwas ausgeleiert habe. Also Vorsicht beim reinschrauben!) und einem Plektrum :) . Obwohl es mein Verschulden war, da ich anscheinend einen falschen Bit genommen habe, gibt es trotzdem einen Punkt Abzug für die Verarbeitung der Schrauben. Das geht besser.. aber egal:

KLARE Kaufempfehlung! Ursprünglich wollte ich mir billigere Tonabnehmer holen, aber die 30¤ Unterschied zu den Lollar Pickups waren mir dann auch egal... und jeder hat es schon einmal erlebt/gehört: Wer billig kauft,... .

Ich hoffe ich konnte euch mit meiner Erfahrung weiterhelfen :)
