Drop in replacement for an LTD EC-256

I've just installed these replacing the stock tuners of my (2017) LTD EC-256. Obviously the button shape is different from the original tulips but I like this shape as well and they fit perfectly including the screw hole on the back so no drilling nor covering of holes was needed.

I've literally just tuned up so got no long term experience with actual use but so far they look and feel great and I had no issues with installation or tuning. The machine heads were neatly packaged and came with a quick installation and usage note. All I needed was some basic tools.

The old ones were not exactly bad but I wanted locking tuners and also wanted to add something nice to the guitar myself. At first impression though the Gotohs also do feel smoother to tune.

Perfectly happy so far :)

Eady install on a Gretsch Electromatic

Installed easily on my Gretsch Electromatic. Not as easy to use as a thumb screw version , but easy enough, makes restringing easier

Sehr gute Qualität, wenig Spiel, leichtgängig, Made in Japan.

Die Mechiken haben einen relativ kurzen Schaft. Bei meiner PRS SE Custom 22, kein Problem. Bei der PRS SE ist die Kopfplatte etwas dicker, da mußte ich extra dünne Unterlegscheiben (Passcheiben) nutzen.

Die Klemmfunktion ist gut durchdacht, durch das Festziehen mit den Stimmwirbeln werden die Saiten verklemmt. Das heißt man braucht viele Umdrehungen bis die Saiten fest ist, erst dann wird gespannt. Eine Saitenkurbel ist angeraten. Dafür hat man Klemmachniken die kaum zusätzliches Gewicht mit bringen.

J'ai acheté ce set de mécaniques pour améliorer une Ibanez AS 73 qui ne tenait pas parfaitement l'accordage. C'est désormais le cas. J'avais eu l'occasion d'apprécier la fiabilité des mécaniques à blocage sur une Pacifica 311 H (des Grover). Disons que c'est franchement un plus: il devient inutile d'enrouler la corde plusieurs fois. Gotoh prend ses précautions en déclinant toute responsabilité quant à l'installation des mécaniques. Pour le coup, elles ont remplacé celles d'origine sans aucun problème, il suffit de bien prendre les mesures avant achat. La qualité du produit? Rien à redire, ça semble solide et fiable. Quant à savoir si le diamètre différencié des trous a une incidence sur la tenue de l'accord, je ne me prononcerai pas, les concepteurs ont dû y réfléchir.
Au total, de bonnes mécaniques d'un rapport qualité prix acceptable, qui s'installent facilement et font le job.
