No precicion work here
I have had these for a couple of years now but finally gotten to use them a bit. Got to say that though they are not he most expensive set, I'm a bit disappointed.
The form of the groove they make is not a round bottomed V like it should. The bottom of the groove is completely flat. The widths of the edges vary uncontrolled in two different ways: The thinnest is the thinnest and the thickest the thickest but what happens in between looks rather random and each edge has wider or narrower portions on it.
I don't know the manufacturing process of files but I would have expected at least an attempt to make precision tools with precision methods.
They get the part of the job done, that you get nicely slanted edges to the string grooves, but you need a U-edged set to finish the bottoms. Lucky me, I have one.
