Use - replacing a worn out 15" driver in a bass guitar reflex cabinet.
Pros - high handling capacity for todays over the top powerful bass amplifiers (my 800w is still not as loud a my old 200w Trace Elliot!). Solidly built and I have no doubt it will give good reliably service for a long time.
Cons - I can never avoid comparing modern speakers to Celestion's own 1990s Sidewinders. I have tried various modern speakers from Eminence and others and none of them have the snap, attack, and clarity of tone that the Sidewinders had. Sadly this Pulse is no exception. Yes it's efficient and doesn't break up under high volumes, but it just sounds dull in comparison without quite a bit of high and high mid EQ - I still have a cabinet loaded with a Sidewinder, so that's how I know.
Conclusion - probably the best value and bang for your buck in a solidly built quite probably bomb proof 400w 15" bass guitar speaker. Needs some fairly strong EQ on your amplifier to bring out the best in it. I shall be buying another in due course to complete replacing the drivers in my stack.
