Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Studio HD Mini

Ich habe das Hyperdeck Studio HD Mini als Mediaplayer Companion für mein Atem gekauft. Anfangs dachte ich an einen kompletten Fehlkauf, aber typisch Blackmagicdesign gibt es eine gewisse Lehrnkurve und vor allem gewisse Quirks. Das Gerät spielt nur den Codec ab der auch für die Aufnahme eingestellt ist. Leider funktioniert dies für H264 gar nicht, oder zumindest für mich nicht. Bei Einstellung auf ProRes hat es dann problemlos geklappt.
Nicht vergessen in den Einstellungen auf "Auto Roll" zu stellen, damit das Hyperdeck auch automatisch den gewählten Clip startet. Etwas eigenartig ist auch das BMD bei der Adressierung der Clips via Macro bei 0 zu zählen beginnt. Wenn mans weiss aber kein grosses Thema.
Alles in allem ein Top Medialieferant für den ATEM Video Mischer.

A nice little recorder/player for my portable video rigg. The audio and video quality is good and in line with my cheap consumer cameras. I'm running it in 1080p with no problems. The cooling fan inside is a little bit loud but not as noisy as many other BMD products. Be aware that this product is tricky to use when it comes to play content created on other platforms. The quality of the internal software is not in line with my expectations, especially when it comes to playback mp4. I cannot make it work. Control functions on the panel are rather rudimentary. Remote control via LAN is a good feature. Despite the software issues I'm happy with the product, but this is not a real plug n' play solution. You probably need to find a couple of work arounds regarding video formats to be happy.
