A high quality unit that's compact and easy to work with!

Firstly, unless I'm very much mistaken, this piezo preamp is not specifically for BASS (as Thomann's listing implies). It's for any high-impedance, low-level piezo-type pickup. I'm actually using it to preamplify a Schatten HFN pickup which I fitted to one of my guitars - and which turns out to produce a very low-level signal, which is also very treble rich (internet comments confirm this). This Bartolini preamp is not much bigger than a sugar cube, so I was able to glue it on to the back of the existing preamp, "steal" 9v power for it, and also add some passive EQ (R/R/C) to its output before feeding into the existing preamp. So that's a piezo buffer and +12dB of gain all added invisible inside the guitar. It solved by problem perfectly. Recommended!
